Assisted Tackles in STL (1 Viewer)

We've always known that games played in STL have usually been low on assisted tackles because they are quite stingy over there, and I took this into consideration to some extent in the past. I don't know if they have a new guy in charge this year, but yesterday was stingy beyond imagination. Only one assisted tackle the entire game (one for the Cards, zero for the Rams)? Come on. With other games yesterday having approached 50 assists or even exceeded it, and a single team having 39 (Bills), the lack of consistency is getting out of control.

Let's see what happens when the Rams host the Skins in week #3...

I was going to start a topic on the same topic man!

The Patriots and other teams get an assist on every play and the Rams can't even get one!

I looked at the splits from last season and Laurinaitis had ZERO assist tackles in his 8 home games last season!

Is that part of the reason Chris Long came up with a goose-egg?

Anyone see that game?

I see no way possible there was only one assisted tackle in the game. I realize some places overdo it and give out assists like candy, but the Rams stat crew is ridiculous.

Since it isn't an official stat I'm sure the NFL doesn't care, but if I were the Rams PR folks (and players) I'd be pretty up in arms. At some point common sense has to prevail. There is no way their stats are accurate.

I think Laurinaitis would have even more value if he had a home stat crew that handed out any assists. He has 105-15-120 last season with ALL 15 assists handed out on the road.

I just crunched the numbers. The Rams scorekeeper awarded 15 TOTAL assist tackles in the 8 home games last season. (For the Rams players)

In contrast, the Patriot players were awarded 26 assist tackles from their hometown scorekeeper yesterday!

Is there any way to find out who the guy is and email him and give him a shout out?

Norton, just a heads up on your projections......the Redskins are playing AT St. Louis this week.

Rocky ain't getting 4 assists in this one. And I'd be surprised if Fletcher and Landry get 2 apiece as well.

That is something to think about in this game.

The Redskins might muster 3-4 assists the entire game as a team. So Fletcher's 6 solo/6 assist for "12 tackle" type day won't happen.

I think Landry is the safest play because of his 21 solos so far.

Totally agree with you. It really makes zero sense. I don't have much patience with all of this, and if it doesn't get fixed I'm gonna start losing interest in IDP.

So you come in here with your Patrick Willis avatar and do nothing but ##### about NFL scorekeepers, and ask a fantasy message board to change this like it's something that any of us could help with. I think you either have no clue as to what IDP is all about and the inaccuracies of the scoring involved, or you got lucky in picking up P. Willis off of your ww last year and he won your league for you and you consider yourself an expert. Possibly both. Welcome to IDP. Deal with it, and add some insight.Eta: it's still a valid topic, and I love the discussion about scorekeepers. Valuable info and insight to share, and something that everyone should consider when making lineup decisions. But complaining about it is worthless. It's just another awesome piece of info spotted by a fbg that can help out on Sunday morning!Tia

I didn't ask any of y'all to change anything.. I came here to VENT. That's right.. if you got a problem with it, that's your problem. Sorry that I got your panties in a bunch. Been playing fantasy fball since I was 13, so only for about 8 years.. and I have A LOT to learn. I appreciate you being my fantasy football daddy and putting me in my place. Me and my Patrick Willis avatar will more than likely continue to piss guys like you off, so you need to learn to deal with it and not try to be a keyboard warrior. P.S. I didn't add Patrick Willis off the waiver wire.. I traded Keith Ellison straight up for him earlier this year. I think it might work out for me, but who knows..

Someone traded Patrick Willis for Keith Ellison?
the expert with the Patrick Willis avatar did
Well Obviously.......My point was who would only take Ellison as compensation for Willis? That is basically giving him away.
I was just kidding about that.. I drafted him 3 years ago.. The guy told me I prolly got him on the waiver wire and he won the league for me and now I prolly think I'm an expert, so I made a joke out of it.

I think the fact that scoring varies a lot from one stadium to another is useful knowledge that helps us maximize our starting lineup over fantasy players who don't know this kind of thing.

First off, just a reminder that this forum (happily) has always been different than the Shark Pool. No douchebagging or pissing contest are welcome. Save that crap for one of the "why I hate/love Vick/animals" rants over there. Jene, Anthony and some of the other guru's do a great job of being informative and involved with the IDP and I think its because of the constructive participation that goes on in here.

Back on topic- In a league where we only count solo tackles, I'm curious to see if this actually helps. Maybe instead of giving assist to two players, the stats guy may give a solo to one. That would be a benefit if that happens to be your guy. Or maybe he credits both with a solo occassionally and it gets over looked. I'm not saying it is so; but something to check into.
