ATTN Herman or Anyone with Distance Scoring for FG's (1 Viewer)

:bag: Kicker Question. But this is a legit question.

The Falcons have signed Morten Anderson, he of the 101 years of age, to be their FG kicker. Problem is, he doesn't have any long range ability anymore. Herman has Anderson as a Top 10 Kicker from here on out. But, Koenen is handling the long field goals.

I'll use my scoring system for Kickers as an example. 3 points for FG's up to 39 yards. 5 for FG's 40-49 yards. 7 for FG's 50-59 yards. 10 for FG's 60 yards plus. 1 point for extra points. No penalty for missed FG's or XP's.

Is Anderson a FG K you can rely on in such a scoring system? Is he going to get that many chip shot FG's playing for Atlanta? And what is his range now? What yardage does Koenen come in for the boot?

I think he is a viable option, since the Falcons have attempted 16 FGs already (4 a game). Also, Anderson can can kick up to 40 yards, and maybe a couple more. Maybe you'll get lucky and just get over 39 yds, and you'll get a 5 pointer. He did make a 40 yarder last week. Koenen came in and made a 51 yarder.

Morten will miss out on the 50+ yard opportunities. How many 50+ yard FGs do teams make? I just took a look at last year's numbers:

- Teams averaged making 1.5 FGs from 50 yards and beyond. That equates to 4.5 points in standard scoring. In your scoring it equates to 10.5 points.

- Rackers had the most (6)

- Twelve teams had zero

I'd slide Andersen down maybe a couple slots with your scoring, but nothing drastic.

Thanks very much!!!!! Was hoping I'd get an answer from the expert. And you answered within a half hour. Was your Spidey sense tingling or what? Amazing!!!!!! :headbang: :headbang: You rock!!!!!!!!!!!One more question, about the next closest to Anderson left in my league is Nedney, SF. You'd still take Anderson over him with this scoring system?

Yep, I'd go with Andersen over Nedney.
