Auction League with Rookie Draft (1 Viewer)

I am in a Dynasty League that is starting this season. We our having a Rookie draft (keep rookie players 5 years) with no budget and then the auction draft (100 budget a team). I have the first pick in the rookie draft and am going to take Reggie Bush. I am wondering? Should I be fair and let Reggie Bush go to the auction draft due to the massive price value for him in most leagues ($18 to $26) and keep 1st pick in pick in rookie draft where the next top pick is between $8 and $5? This would make sense due to such a gap in price. Or should I keep him since I won him fair and square in draft order selection? If I do not keep him and let him go to auction, I am insisting on a rule called "The Reggie Rule" where every years rookie class will have players that are a certain % of dollar value higher than the rest of the rookies go to auction! Would you keep Reggie Bush or make a possibly more competitive league?

The right thing to do in the 1st year is have all players available for the autcion including rookies. If that's not the case you should just take Reggie number one.

:goodposting: I agree on both counts..Sorry, but I think your "Reggie Rule" is silly...Since it's a startup league, ideally, the first auction would include rookies -- but if the other owners (or you) don't agree with that then just take Reggie.. It's not like Reggie is going to win you championships all by himself...

This is what we did and it has worked well... our league is in it's 3rd year now (including rookie drafts the last 2) and forcing every player into the auction the first year is the only fair way to do it.
