Shawn Glans has resigned

Is he still being charged?

Yea he was arrested and charged with "official misconduct and harassment" according to the Times Union. I live about 10 mins south of there so I'm hearing about it constantly.

I could understand a cop getting upset and snapping if they worked in a high crime, stress filled area, but Halfmoon is a pretty low key suburban town... not exactly Compton.

Yet no assault charges. At least he doesn't keep his job. Wonder if he'll still be eligible for a pension?

Probably. He resigned, he wasn't fired for cause.

I have some sympathy for the Cop. I will not condom him. It cannot be easy going through life with the name Glans. Imagine the ribbing this guy took.
