Bad Weather Games (1 Viewer)

The weather for the east coast games is brutal. Especially, I hear, in the NE game. High winds and rain. If we assume there will be moer running plays, this would siggest less snaps, less sack Opportunity for DLs, maybe more tackles for LB and DBs are hit or miss. I don't want this to be a WDIS thread but I am thinking on sitting all my IDPs for these east coast games if the winds are greater than 20 mph, which would affect the passing game. Is there any historical data that shows trends in IDP scoring for these bad weather games? I think only winds has an impact....

I think every situation is different. Some quarterbacks are going to be able to throw in almost any conditions, others won't have the arm to pull it off. I think it's reasonable to expect more runs (and shorter drives) when it's really windy, but I don't know whether that affects an IDP much. Edge rushers may have less opportunity, the third linebacker may (or may not) be on the field as often.

The rain doesn't have quite the impact it used to with the spread of field turf and high-tech drainage systems. Used to be that the linemen and MLB would rack up tackles in the muck because the game slowed down so much.

I think you stick with studs if you have them. If you've got a marginal player in a good matchup, try to get a handle on how the opposing offense might handle the weather (strength of their running game, quarterback arm, game turn into a blowout, etc) and decide whether to bail on the matchup or not.
