Golden Plane
I wrote Silver Chair, but this is what I was thinking. Good notebook.

And all the people crapping on the Dead- I will fight you! Well, not fight, because that would be very unDudelike. But, I will dance around you arrhythmically in a way that makes my displeasure obvious but doesn't harsh on your chill. Unless it's a song featuring Donna's vocals.

He’s a good singer but his voice and the lyrics tend to not be the worst thing about LZ for me.
Plant himself hates his vocals on some of the early records.  But he is the exact opposite of a terrible singer.

In all seriousness, is that where the hyphen generally comes to denote something? Something along troubadour lines? That's interesting.

By the way, you might appreciate this. Just got, through the mail, an audiophile copy of Van's Moondance. It sounds freaking awesome. From 1979, a hot stamper that cost a decent amount to get in good condition. Half mastered from analog and certified fresh.

Just a vinyl record. It's a "Super Disk" because it's mastered at half speed or something like that. It's supposed to retain the audio quality of the original recorded tapes better for some reason. I have no idea how the process works and couldn't really tell you with any clarity. It was referred to in a segment by the guys that sell audio at Better Records. The pressing is from 1979, and I was able to find a quiet one for cheap. It sounds good, that's for sure.

You can tell a difference from a regular record?

That sounds really cool, would love to get into that.

Depends on your set up. It won't be noticeable on most. It also depends on who does the remastering from the tapes to the records. You'd need sort of an audiophile rig to notice the difference. They do half speed mastering for a bunch of projects. You just have to find them and to confirm that it makes any difference. Otherwise, it's a waste. Like half speed mastering from digital sources means nothing. But this is from the analog masters as digital hadn't taken shape in '79. So I happened to just be able to spend a minimal amount to find out if it'll sound different.

I'm just more excited about the possibility that it will sound great once I find the right rig to play it on. Like if my brother ever gets in gear and gets his rig set up. I still can tell a bit of difference on mine, but not too much as a lot of it is digital in the end.

RHCP - I like him ok when he's kind of rapping but Anthony is f'n horrible when he tries to sing. The other band that comes to mind is the Smashing Pumpkins.

Phil Lesh is horrible but he sang so rarely that it was just cool to see him do it.

I had a half speed master of "Darkness on the Edge of Town" but sold it cause I didnt have a rig to get the most out of it.

How I never put together your avatar, name, and interest is beyond me. Yeah, it's really gotta be a good setup to really hear the difference, though on a really good half speed master you can still hear it a bit on a normal stereo setup.
