1. L. J. Smith (adp 10) Consistently top 10 guy. Will put up those kinds of numbers as long as McNabb is healthy. Has averaged within a point of the top 5 or 6 at his position the last two years. He is a solid fantasy starter.
2. Witten (adp 9) Same as Smith, solid top 10 guy. He averaged 10 points a week the second half of the year after him and Romo had some time together. A full off-season with Romo will only help his numbers. Fantasy starter period.
3. Miller (adp12) New offensive system should help his value. He will get some looks in the middle of the field now, unlike just red zone targets in the past. The development of Holmes will open up the middle of the field for him more often. Can see him moving up to that 9+ ppg average that you need out of your starting TE. He’ll be a fantasy starter for someone.
4. Scaife – (adp 22) Inconsistent last year with new starting QB, but had some nice games. Vince and him played together at Texas, so they have great chemistry. Not a lot of receiving options on the team. Still finished 17th on ppg average last year. He will finish inside the top 15 making him a borderline starter. Scaife, not Troupe, is the one to watch on this team.
5. Pollard – (adp 20) Seattle like to throw to the TE, but got away from that last year. J. Stevens was a top 11 TE in 2005. Pollard might be the team’s third best receiving option. Pollard finished 16th in 2005 in Detroit. He’ll be a borderline starter also.
SLEEPERS
Miller (adp 21)– He’ll be the starting TE in Oakland. Had great size and will be a great target in the middle of the field. If he doesn’t have to stay in and block a lot, could pay off with some nice weeks.
Olsen (adp 16) Catches everything and has great size and speed. Not a blocker, but could be moved out wide to make matchup problems. Eventually will be a stud. Depends on how much Clark takes away from him. They like to use two TE sets, and I can see Olson being like a slot in those formations.
