1. Muhammed (adp 10) He is the No. 1 on a team that should be improved on offense. He can produce if Rex gets more consistent, and obviously I think Grossman does. Easily a great WR3.

2. Bruce (adp 11) Unbelievable value in round 11. He is entrenched at the No 2 spot on a great offensive team. People are saying the additions on Bennet and McMicheal will hurt him, or that he is too old. Just how good was Bennett anyway? He had a few monster games two years ago with Volek throwing to him and I haven’t seen much out of him since. If he was that good, why didn’t Tennessee try to keep him? I know they are stacked at WR and didn’t need him. He’ll put up low WR2 numbers at a bargain price.

3. Welker (adp15) He’ll be the most consistent WR on the Patriots. Moss and Stallworth have already proved they have two good hamstrings in all four of their legs. Wes will catch lots of passes and make plays after the catch.

4. Stockley (adp ?) This guy is going undrafted in most leagues and may end up being No. 2 in Denver when it’s all said and done. Marhall and Smith can’t stay healthy. Stockley has had is own health problems, but can play when given the chance. Could be the steal of the draft!

5. Burleson – (adp 20) Once again everyone is assuming Hackett will be the No. 2. They paid Burleson big money to come in last year and he didn’t produce, I think he will get every chance to win the No. 2 spot this year, and can win it.

6. Other guys to keep an eye on : Reggie Williams, K. Curtis, Moulds, Curry

C. Davis – He may end up beating out Parker in the long run.

Ginn – They’ll figure out a way to get him the ball in space

Rice – Maybe the best WR in Minnesota right now.

For Welker, he will get a TON of receptions and should lead the Pats in catches. If he can convert a handful of those (maybe 4) into Tds you're looking at a solid WR3.

For Curry, when healthy this guy has put up close to stud #s. Even last year after Moss got hurt he lead the NFL in catches over the final 4 weeks on that anemic offense. I think 1000 yds can be achieved and hopefully he can punch a few TDs in. I am targeting him late in all my drafts but I expect he'll be starting on my team in no time.

Also I like the Moulds call. Young has to throw to somebody and while most think itll be Jones (me included) I dont think it would be the out of the realm of possibilty that that guy would be Moulds.

I really like Curry this year if he can stay healthy. Guy has caught almost 72% of his targets so far in his career.

Gimme Berrian over Moose any day. He seems to be taken later in the majority of drafts I've seen, too...higher PPG last year, he was Rex's favorite target in the playoffs and put up monster numbers, and may still improve while Moose will stagnate at best.

Moose still ain't too bad if you can grab him as your WR4 - it helps to have one or two of those nice boring veterans to fill in when needed.

Not a fan of Pats WRs with the way Brady spreads it, but if Welker actually is going in the 15th then that is solid value. I've seen him quite a bit higher than that, opinions seem to vary wildly.

Yeah, Curry is nice too, though he can never stay healthy it seems. Not much risk at that point though.

Still not convinced the Burleson thing is legit. And Ginn is useless, except as a spot starter ONLY if your league counts return yards.

Stokley, eh, if he falls to the last round I might take a shot. He was good one year in the Colts system, this is a whole different scenario.

One problem with Muhammad is that Grossman has a lot of weapons to throw the ball to this year - Bradley is healthier this year and doing really well in camp; Hester on O will get passes his way; Olsen the rookie TE has looked great in camp; Garrett Wolfe is going to be a nice 3rd down release valve for Grossman; and then there is Des Clark and Berrian still there. So, expect a lot of Pats kind of distributions where the only real value from Chicago's passing game is Rex Grossman himself (his ADP being as low right now).

Grab Mike Furrey in PPR leagues.....he is lasting until after 11th round in almost all drafts and with Calvin Johnson still not signed, given how complex Martz'z offense is, given rookie WRs rarely do well (yes there are exceptions like Moss, Colston etc), given Det's running game will be iffy if Kevin Jones is not there putting them in lots of passing 2nd and 3rd downs, given Det's D stinks making them throw more in 2nd half of games, given Kitna and Furrey had great chemistry last year and given Furrey caught 98 balls last year, what is not to like?

I fully expect Furrey to at least catch 70 balls this year. Great value for PPR leagues for where he is going.

i like Furrey (adp 13th) in PPR. in martz offense their will still be a lot of balls to go around even with the addition of Calvin.

great prospect but he hasn't done anything yet while Furrey has led the NFC in receptions.

also K. Curtis. did well in St. Louis when Bruce was sidelined with injuries and he has McNabb at QB.

with Cowboys old timers at WR, P. Crayton could end up being worth a late round flier or good WW pick-up.

like mentioned above, i like Welker as well.

i enjoy these threads tremendously podunker but i found myself respectfully disagreeing with many of your selections. ill do my best to back up my claims..but the overriding theme would be youve selected guys whose ADP may very well reflect their ceiling..

muhammed..getting up there in years and his 60ish catches a year with 4 or 5 TDs seems to be the upside considering the development of young talent like Berrian, Davis, Bradley, Hester, plus Olsen gives another redzone target.

Bruce.. long time Bruce lover here but he is also in the twilight. more of a gut feeling that Bennett may outperform him or at least take touches away. McMichael gives Bulger another legit threat this year as well.

Welker..love this guy since his Texas Tech days when he kept torching my Horns for like 13 catches a game in that gimmicky Mike Leach offense :furious:. I think he may suffer from too much hype though here in the FBGs community. Brady is notorious for spreading it around and his options now include Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Caldwell, Gaffney, Maroney, KFaulk, Watson, etc. I love Welker but there is only so much to go around.

Stokley.. best suited as an NFL WR3 and i dont anticipate Denver trying to make him a WR2

Burleson.. no real support here but no thanks.

i do like Curry a lot but with the hype train pulling into the station Porter may ultimately become the shark play at the end of august.

thumbsup on Kevin Curtis. he is a target of mine but then again Philly spreads it around too.

as for mine, Chris Chambers is a guy with a ton of talent, some drafted as top 10 last year, and could bounce back nicely this year.

Galloway was in the low WR20 range with erratic QB play last year and has the potential to stay in that same range.

And as for a little deeper see the David Boston thread because im jumping on that train.

Hey Shizzle nice points you make. That's what these post are all about anyway. I sometimes get too caught up in the new flavors of the week or the rankings hype here at FBG. Not that they are wrong, its just I like hearing other peoples thoughts. Especially from the lurkers that aren't always posting. Sometimes it even helps me see the light and makes me change my mind. You may be doing that with Moose right now. Moose was WR29 last year in ppr leagues. Berrian was WR32, although he missed a game, so they are fairly close. They avg pretty much the same.

Bruce was a top 25 WR last year, and that was higher than he avg. the year before. Bulger likes him and a good relationship with him in the passing game. Still think he is a great pick.

Welker and Stokely are one in the same. They are both slot guys, but Welker is much better after the catch. I just don't think the No. 1 and 2 guys on their teams will stay healthy, which in turn increases their value.

I agree on Galloway and Chambers, but they keep creeping up the draft boards so I didn't list them. Still good value though.

I also agree about Furrey he is getting written off way too easy.

I don't know why I am stuck on Burleson still being decent. I just can't imagine them spending the kind of money on him they did if they didn't think he fit their system well.

Devery Henderson was tremendous in limited play last season averaging over 23 yards a catch and scoring 6 touchdowns. He should be the starter this season and I think he'll be a steal in the 9-10th round. I think he can be this year's T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Not low enough? Okay. Reggie Williams looked really good early on for Jacksonville when Byron Leftwich was starting at QB. His numbers fell off when David Garrard became the starter. Lefwich is back so as long as he's the quarterback. Seeing as how he's going in the 14th round what do you have to lose?

I too love these kind of threads, I love to hear peoples ideas without being so darn condescending sometimes.

As for me, I like Berrian a lot though he might be sneaking up higher than I'd like to select him. Maybe not bargain barn here.

I am interested in Sa. Holmes as well. With Ward on the decline, I like Holmes to possibly be grabbing some more balls this year.

If you are able to use returns in combo with rec's...Devin Hester. If they truly use him in the offensive game plan, you might get 1-3 receiving TD's along with 4-6 punt/kickoff TD's and suddenly you have potentially 9 TD's? That is the true upside, but that's what we are looking for here isn't it?

I like Curry as well for most reasons you have already discussed.

Your point is well taken. Here is what I would like to try and compare.

Let's take a look at Dante Hall

In 02 when he broke out he totalled 6 TD's...1 PR/2 KR/3 Rec

In 03 when they knew who he was...............2 PR/2 KR/1 Rec

In 05 when they are closing in on him..........2 PR/0 KR/0 REc

Certainly nothing stellar, but maybe a stop gap for a bye week situation.

If Hester can get the same 4TD's as Hall did after his breakout year, and a couple to three receiving, it's not out of the question IMO.

Santonio Holmes

Donte' Stallworth

Ronald Curry

Joe Horn

Randle El

Brandon Marshall

Maurice Stovall

A few of these aren't necessarily bargains as in low price, as you will likely have to spend a slightly higher pick on guys like Stallworth, and probably Hackett and Holmes, but I think all these guys could very well outperform their ADP or AAV.
