I have been watching Baseball Tonight all season, and still cannot figure out what the phrase "Fill thine horn with oil" is in reference to each time the guy announces a home run. I don't get it. Can someone enlighten me please!!!
1 The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."
XMatt Underwood has been using that to describe Indians homers for a couple of years now. Of course, Tribe announcers do know the difference between a homer and a popup to the 2nd baseman...

I've wondered if Underwood coined that one or not. It's like he tried to out-do Hamilton's greatness when he was color opposite Hammy. You can't outcall Hammy!Regardless, Underwood should be unemployed. At least let him go call games for another team PLEASE. Rick Manning must really wonder sometimes what goes thru that dumbasses head.
And don't forget the new fantasy game about which umpire will eject a manager....They use them all way too much, but the only one I really mind is "Fill thine horn..."Oh, and it is now "Souvenir City. Eric Young President. Or is it mayor or something else?
