Improved LB D.Jones Seeks To Keep Starting Job

Bob Brookover, Philadelphia Inquirer - [Full Article]

HC Andy Reid said over the winter that LB Dhani Jones "can do a better job than he did last year." That's about as close as Andy Reid ever comes to ripping one of his players. DC Jim Johnson said Jones was being pushed for his starting job as the Eagles' strong-side linebacker, and he meant what he said. Jones is expected to get competition from LB Greg Richmond and rookie LB Chris Gocong for the starting job. "I committed myself in the off-season to being a better player, and I will be," Jones said. He worked out in Spain and California.

Competition Looms At Strongside Linebacker

Les Bowen, Philadelphia Daily News - [Full Article]

DC Jim Johnson said LB Dhani Jones is his starting strongside linebacker right now, but he will face competition from LB Greg Richmond and possibly third-round rookie LB Chris Gocong in training camp. "Put 'em in a pile and the strong survive," Johnson said.

Well Shawn, now you have 2 good reasons not to draft a Philly SS backer :D

I am in a couple of 16 team leagues where you can start 4 LBs (most teams do) so no starter is completely worthless in those leagues. That said, is there going to ba a battle for the WLB bewteen Barber and Mccoy.

Who Will Start At Sam LB?

Dave Spadaro, PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Full Article

Philadelphia Eagles LB Dhani Jones' is the starting Sam LB for now. He has been a diligent worker in the off-season, understanding that he, like everyone on the defense, has to step up this season. Jones will face some competition in training camp from a list of young players, however.

take this fwiw but spadaro is far from a "reporter"...he is really nothing more then a mouth piece for the organization so if he has something on philadelphiaeagles.com you can believe it came from mgmt &/or Reid
