I'm pretty sure Ponch was on the original show when he was actually a star. "Battle of the desperate network has-beens"would be a better title.
He does not have an * next to his name in the OP's list.

Other than watching Lisa Whelchel's breasts bouncing as she ran her leg of the relay, the show was not very entertaining at all.

Honestly outside Tom Arnold - I really expected this to be much worse.   The problem was you have 50 year olds with 30 year olds.

That being said - Joey Lawrence might be the most unathletic in shape person I've ever seen.

There was no way they were ever going to match this

You beat me to it...was just going to post this...this is perhaps the greatest 10 minutes in television history...the entertainment level here is Jordanesque...between Telly smoking the butt, the slow mo music, Conrad's ethnic jokes, Lynda Carter's body, the Poster in the background, "like hell", "Farrah Baby" and of course Kaplan taking Conrad to the woodshed...just magnificent...my God did I enjoy TV so much more back in that era...

Damn it. I typed that whole thing out and you beat me to it

I would be shocked (even with the leadership of Battle of the Network Stars veteran Willie Aames) if the Famous TV Family squad doesn't have at least two drug suspensions before the season is over...

Lynda Carter was smoking hot
lots of talent on display on the original show and all in their prime.

Linda Carter, Catherine Bach, Farrah Fawcett, Jacklyn Smith, Adriane Barbeau, Cheryl Ladd, Suzanne Summers, Jane Seymore, Victoria Principle, Rob Reiner, Cheryl Tiegs, Pamela Hensley, Erin Grey, Randi Oakes, the list goes on and on.

Basically every hot chick on network TV was on the show in skimpy clothes over the few season it was on.  Nothing can compare to that array of talent today and none of them are certainly going to let Bob Costas call them "baby"

:)

:lmao:

I was going to highlight the Bob Costas thing too, but I figured Rob was enough
it was the closest I could come to Howard Cosell.

Maybe ten years ago having Al Micheals call Jennifer Aniston baby would have been a better comparison.  It is hard to come up with a modern day equivalent.

I was watching some if the old footage, and a one point, while commenting on a replay from the obstacle course, Howard Cosell used the phrase "Erin Gray, her supple body climbing the wall".

it was so much different back then.

62 year old Corbin Berenson just skunked some young fella I don't know on 3 point shooting.  Huge upset

and yes, I'm bored
