Beanie Wells knee (1 Viewer)

Below is from Sportsline. That is the only place I have seen mention of him hurting his knee again. Has anyone heard of this or know anything more?

Cardinals RB Beanie Wells rushed for 75 yards on 14 carries in Week 3 against the Raiders, but twisted his right knee during the contest. Wells had arthroscopic surgery on the same knee three weeks ago to remove loose cartilage and repair a torn meniscus. He was able to finish the game and averaged 5.4 yards a carry.

(Updated 09/26/2010).

Is this guy made of glass?

I am starting to understand that. I was hoping he would have a good week so I could trade him to the Hightower owner. He had a decent week but then this comes out. If this is accurate he still has zero trade value.

So he finishes a game, CBS is the only one saying this and that opens the door for fbg forum posters to talk how he is made of glass. What a great group we have here, wake up and keep things in context. This has become the norm here so it's not even dissapointing because dissapointment is status quo.

No, you wake up.Wells is as good as dead. Mark it down, lock it up, pay the babysitter and go to bed.

:lmao: Overreact a little?

Not everybody watches every game, every down. We rely on others for information. I wish I was like you who has time to watch all the games in full every Sunday.

There is no doubt Wells has exceptional talent.

There is also no doubt he has been darn fragile until now. Two thoughts:

1. If you have a viable other options at RB on the bench, the guy has Tremendous Upside. In any one game, he has the talent to go off, and if he can somehow stay on the field for 8 or 10 weeks straight, that could mean a lot to fantasy success, especially as you might be able to get him cheap right now.

2. If say Wells were to stay healthy for a stretch, then likely get hurt later this year, sometime next - what have you - he reminds me of someone else who used to be really fragile (Fred), but overcame his history of injury to put together like 3-4 solid years. Perhaps Wells can find a way to train better, stay healthy, have some better luck... and while that won't show during this year in a redraft, its something to consider.

I remember having Fred Taylor a couple years after he was always hurt - his rep was always injured but at the time he had started or played in a good number of games without incident.

Food for thought.

I don't think MS overreacted at all. The board is filled with over reacting guppies this time of year. We all knew (maybe not given the knee jerk reaction) that Wells had knee surgery, it's his first week back. You know guys are in the pile twisting and yanking trying to re-injure and take him out. The point is, HE FINISHED THE GAME. It's not like he was taken off on a field cart...This isn't news.

:X Did you mean to quote someone else? If you are responding to me, great job keeping things in context because what I said can't elicit that response, can it?

He looked really good for a guy who hadn't played in weeks. I think he has a chance to tear it up the rest of the year if he doesn't tear something in his knee.

Beanie had more carries, more yards, and a better ypc. Sounds like Hightower may be the one on the downslide.-Owner of a logical brain (and Wells owner)

No offense but given his history, I don't think I'll be in a huge rush to drop THT..

He didn't look 100%, but still looked very very good. (Pretty much as he has since he's been in the NFL)

Haven't heard anything that he's ailing. Wouldn't surprise me, but nothing I've heard to keep him out.

Only way Cardinals are doing anything this year is if he stays healthy. :fingerscrossed:

As well you should. I'm not saying that an injury won't happen, all I'm saying is he produced more in his first game back from injury. That can't make THT owners happy no matter how you try to spin it.

Wells practices in full

Posted:17 mins ago. | Source (CBSSports.com) (RB - ari)

Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee) had full participation in Thursday's practice according to the official injury report. Wells was limited in Wednesday's practice in preparation for the Week 4 matchup with the Chargers. He twisted the same knee he had surgery on at the end of the preseason

Or what about Thomas Jones? Another Arizona first round RB who struggled early in his career with injuries there. Of course, Beanie's rookie season almost matched Thomas' output for his first 3 seasons there...I am encouraged by Wells' output last week, and think he can definitely do something this year.
