I read something a while back Bears GM Jerry Angelo declared Manning the undisputed front-runner at free safety/cover safety. Manning ticketed for Bears' starting FS job When Brown was injured, the Bears went with Manning over Steltz vs Houston.

Just a couple of years ago, any Chicago player would tell you he's the spark plug to this defense. Someone will get a steal if he can remain healthy

Very good player with health issues. I suspect his agent will get calls from teams needing safeties.
