Anthony Thomas averaged 3.3 YPC last year. Thomas Jones averaged 4.0, thats pretty significant if you ask me.Also, for the record, LT2 averaged 3.9 YPC, Jesse Chatman averaged 6.0 playing behind the same offensive line with the same collection of QB's, how do you explain that!?!?!?!?Burning Sensation,
Anthony Thomas put up some decent numbers in those games.. playing behind the same offensive line and the same collection of QB's.. how do we explain that?
Hey newbie, mind your own business.pm broken?

It's just that some people can't accept that Thomas Jones is a decent RB. I guess if someone doesn't explode onto the scene his first few years it means he doesn't have talent. I think the "experts" know that a lot more goes into being a productive RB than just skill. To say Thomas Jones has no shot at being a top 10 RB is nonsense. If you want to say the odds are against him, then you'd probably be right but he still has a shot. Final words - you don't average 4.0 YPC on last year's Bears team without having the ability to be an NFL RB.Why is everyone knocking Adrian Murrell in here?
He was a top 12 RB in 1996, and I won't soon forget his 199 yard performance that gave the Jets a huge win against the Cards that year.![]()

Otis..get ready for that Adrian Murrell quote on the bottom of your sig....Thomas Jones will forever be only as good as Thomas Jones, which is not very goodYou're on if you give me the following contingencies:-If he gets traded to another team, the bet is off.i smell a sig-bet
Otis,
if Thomas Jones finishes in the top 10, I will post the following
Thomas Jones is well on his way to be the next Walter Payton
if he finished in the top 5, I will post
Thomas Jones is the next Walter Payton
IF he does not finish in the top 10 you will post the following as your sig for 1 year
Thomas Jones is the next Adrian Murrell
-If he misses more than 4 games this season.
I don't want him breaking his leg or being traded to Arizona and then you #####ing that I need to put in your sig. The bet is based on him being in relatively good health and in the situation that he is in today. I can't predict the future, but I can stand by all the posts I've made in this thread.
And I like your suggested sigs, but one addition in the sig if I win - below the line about Thomas Jones you must put a clickable link to this post which reads "I HEART THOMAS JONES"
At season's end, you will beand I will be :rotflmao:
Looks like Otis left himself a lot of wiggle room. seems to leave him an out if he wants to wiggle out of what should be an honorable bet. No mention of getting beat out by another RB (draft or otherwise) so I would think the bet is valid. The bet is based on him being in relatively good health and in the situation that he is in today.
the point was from day 1 that Thomas Jones will not be a top 5 back.
this sig bet was made because I was confident that either he would fail, he would get hurt or he would get beat out.
let me ask you a question: if he got beat out by Marcell Shipp would the sig bet would count?
I still say I can't predict the future, and I had no way of knowing the Bears would select a RB at #4. Obviously I don't believe Jones can be a top 10 back as an NFL backup.I tried to put in contingencies to make my point clear -- I didn't want him getting hurt, or, as I mentioned, moving to an awful situation, and then you trying to rub that in my face as a "victory." Sitting here today I still have no doubt that Thomas Jones as a starter on that Bears team could be a top fantasy back. Unfortunately, an unexpected twist has made that impossible. The bet is based on him being in relatively good health and in the situation that he is in today. I can't predict the future, but I can stand by all the posts I've made in this thread.
