Once again, a fine job by John Mullin of the Tribune providing excellent quick hitting crib notes:

What's happening under center

Kyle Orton provided the night's passing highlight with a 35-yard strike to Airese Currie, who made a tumbling catch in the end zone against good coverage by cornerback Carlos Hendricks. … Rex Grossman wore out Bernard Berrian with strong throws, working the left side of the field. Grossman was sharp with those throws and also spread the ball around to a variety of receivers in one of the later sessions. … Brian Griese is developing an obvious comfort level with Justin Gage, finding the big receiver all evening and delivering catchable balls throughout.

'Back talk

What's up with the backs and 'backers?

Cedric Benson's knee soreness and swelling will be a concern until he goes through the next couple of practices without problems. Benson's pass receiving has been excellent and he has been running with excellent explosion and getting to and around the corners. His condition and Thomas Jones' hamstring will be the most closely watched things in camp for a team that wants to pound the ball. … Kudos to Adrian Peterson for taking all of the first-team snaps and performing every bit as well as he did in relief duty last season. Peterson has worked primarily with Griese but he handled the calls, protections, routes and runs of Grossman extremely well and broke several big runs. … Brian Urlacher is showing up on film every single night. Tuesday it was an acrobatic near-interception as well as some physical stuffs of runs in the middle. … Hunter Hillenmeyer refused to be blocked and strung out a well-designed sweep for no gain.

That's all very good news since I own Benson and Grossman. Im also glad to see Adrian Peterson continueing to be one of the best backup RB's in football. This guy could start for a lot of teams I think. If Jones does happen to get traded, I think his value soars.
