Bears vs Det (1 Viewer)

The Bears have looked atrocious in the preseason and are getting lit up on the air waves. I am a homer but have doubts on how well they will do this year, but this game vs Detroit seems like it will be their best showing of the year. Lovie is 8-4 vs the Lions and I am not buying into the hype of Detroit being that much better this year. I still see them as a 4-5 win team. They have issues on the defensive side right now, and the fact that the game is at Soldier Field leads me to believe a win for the Bears...

Cutler

I think Cutler will have a decent (for him) game. probably will throw 2 picks. 275 yards passing and 2 TDs...

Forte

Every scenario I can think of, bears get early lead, Bears fall behind, I still see Forte having a huge game. I am predicting 175 total yards with a TD. If there ever was a must play game for Forte, this one is it.

Knox

Out of all the WRs, I think Knox is the safest play against Detroit. Their issues in the secondary, should allow Knox to roam free. Knox's biggest downfall is getting off the line of scrimmage clean and I don't think Detroit will gameplan that way. 6/90.

Hester

I think Hester has a solid game. Its hard to predict if he will catch the bomb that undoubtedly will be thrown to him or get a pass interference call. I'm guessing he gets the PI. 4/50.

DA

DA to me is a wildcard. I think if either Knox or Hester ever gets injured, his stock soars. But if all three are healthy, he can could go 2/20 or 7/100. You'll never know. 3/45.

Olsen

Whatever Olsen gets, it will take away from Hester and DA. If you think Olsen will have a good game, then Hester and DA will not. The Bears showcased Olsen in one preseason game (didn't do very well but had alot of targets) and then another game, I dont think he had a target. This may be biased, cuz I dont really like Olsen, but 1/15.

Gould = Gold in this game.....

For IDPers

I think Tommie Harris will suprise in this game and record 2 sacks. I think the addition of Peppers will open things up for Harris. A DE like Peppers is something him and the Bears have lacked for several years. Harris is healthy and with Peppers, at least for this game, he will show what made him a pro bowl years ago...

2010 Lions >> 2010 Bears. The Bears may win at home, but it is last place for the Bears this year.

Lions secondary is AWFUL but their Def Line is going to be good. Bears O-line is going to get abused in this game. Go check how RB's fared vs. Lions 1st team this preseason.

As a Forte owner I expect 80-90 total yards .5 td

Preseason = preseason and the sample size is minute. Det did well against Mendenhall and Harrison but they only had 3 carries each. Denver (without Moreno and Buckhalter) and Buffalo games dont tell me much. Forte did lousy in his 3 carry games, but when he got 5 carries, he blasted for 109.... I dont think any of this matters much. After the first good screen or dump off to Forte, the holes will open...I guess we will see when the game starts on Sunday..

The question will be whether or not Cutler can find the time to find his receivers. He'll be under a lot of pressure in his first game in Martz's offense, which should be difficult for him. The Lions secondary will certainly help Cutler, but there's an outside chance that there will be enough pressure to make the secondary appear to be passable. Suffice it to say that with the pressure the front four can bring, the secondary HAS to be improved over last year.

The Lions are most vulnerable in the middle of the field. It seemed last year like every opposing TE had a career year against them. But will Martz include Olsen in the game plan? One would assume he would, but with Martz you never know.

I think Knox could be a huge problem for the Lions D, especially in YAC. Forte's value in 2010 remains to be seen. It can go either way... and big-time either way.

One thing you may be missing is that the Lions appear to be a team that will enjoy playing in a track meet. I'm not sure Cutler's new offense is ready to keep up with Stafford and his receiving crew, including J. Best. Folks will focus on DET's defensive shortcomings, but their offensive improvement can and will create problems for lesser teams.

Should be a good game, actually.

No one is saying the Lions will be a playoff team, buy even you are conceding a 100-150% improvement. Sounds like you're contradicting yourself.

I like the Bears to put up 31. Cutler should go 300yds 3tds 1int. Forte will go 110 and 1.

Bears should win this one 31-20.
