Becareful of Shaun Hill (1 Viewer)

There is no way he is healed up from a fracture after 2 weeks. CBS is reporting he will have the full playbook open. BS. I picked up Hill after Stafford went down and he has a great matchup but no way I start him this week. Hopefully we dont lose him for the rest of the season today

Not sure how many are relying on Shaun Hill for today OR the rest of the season, but just one point of information: its been 28 days since his forearm was broken, and 27 days since the surgical procedure - not two weeks.

Hill fractured his arm in the week 6 game against the giants, so its been 4 weeks since the injury not 2. Prior to the Stafford injury last week Hill was saying he was one week away. It sounded like Hill was always coming back this week.

My bad, I was just thinking about Stafford's 2 starts. Hill , if healthy is a solid start going forward, IMO. plenty of teams looking for QBs

the big ben/pitt threads are littered with discussion of starting hill over ben, including myself. people like him this week

When your starting QB was Tony Romo and your backup was Chad Henne....your relying on Shaun Hill.

Anyone like Hill against Dallas this weekend? Dallas' D was a sieve before Phillips was fired.
As much as I hate to say it, I think Dallas' change in coach and their big win last week has given them a lot of momentum.I can see them beating up Detroit this week at Dallas. I never ever thought I'd say this, but I trust our defense more thanour offense... :goodposting:

I don't understand the stance that Dallas did much better. At least from a fantasy perspective Eli Manning went 33-48, 373 yds, 2 tds last week. I would take that everyday of the week.

Dallas still gave up a bunch on defense to the GMen even if they did play with more intensity. The Cowboys are one of the worst teams in defending the pass. The Lions are the 7th rated passing offense and are 1st in number of attempts. They throw more than the Saints do! I expect the Lions will be playing from behind and will throw the ball a bunch. I see 300 yards and 2 TD's for hill this weekend.

The Lions don't have a running game. They could have a terrible game, and Hill could still have a nice fantasy week.

Cowboys only getting pressure from Ware, Spencer isn't really taking advantage of his chances.

I was looking for a reason to start Hill over Schuab. This thread was it. Thanks or FU, guys. Let's see what happens.

How do you like him against NE on Thanksgiving? He does throw it around about as often as an Arena Leaguer imo. :bye:

As long as he stays healthy I like Hill as a low-end QB1 with Top 5 upside. The turnovers are a problem but the Lions are loaded in the passing game, they can't run the ball and their defense gives up points. Hill isn't a special talent by any means but all he has to do is wing it to Megatron, Burleson and Pettigrew and he'll get plenty of production. He's topped 225 yards in every full game he's played It's amazing what the Lions do on a weekly basis in the passing game. Whether it's been Stafford or Hill they've gotten it done. I think the Lions' passing game is pretty much matchup proof. As far as this week, there is zero reason in my opinion to fear the Patriots and their 31st-ranked pass defense. This could be a week where Hill puts up Top 5 QB numbers. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

i'm liking the Lions, and Hill, alot in this spot. NE coming off emotional hard fought big rivalry game, traveling and playing on 3 days rest against non-division opponent. If i was a gambling guy i would check the history to see how they fare in those types of spots but common sense tells me this must be good for the Lions. NE defense nothing to write home about anyway. I'm starting all my Lions in WCOFF and FPC playoff games, except Best.If someone has a contrary view please share it i'm always open minded.

Detroit has literally zero running game. New England is around 30th vs the pass. Seems like a perfect storm for Hill.

Belichick is notorious for taking away a team's primary weapon & forcing the 2nd/3rd/4th option to beat him. Count on Calvin being blanketed, but Hill has other good options. Burleson & Pettigrew should have 7-8 catches a piece.

I think Hill, Megatron, Burleson and Pettigrew are all terrific starts this week. Morris is a sneaky RB3 in PPR leagues. I agree Best is the only Lion who shouldn't be started (and Scheffler if anyone is still starting him).

I don't think the Patriots have the talent in the secondary to stop Megatron. This isn't Past His Prime Randy Moss. The only CB in the NFL who's shut down Calvin this season is Revis. The Patriots don't have Revis. I think Megatron tears them up.

Will the Lions sit Stafford the rest of the year and leave Hill to start the rest of the way or will he go away during the FF playoffs?

well, PackerFan, i think maybe thats you we're playing in FPC playoff game...we're Miles to Nowhere, league 9/7 b, and unforunately we dont have any Lions on that team except Best, and now Nicks out, Floyd, dinged, you're catching us at our weakest time of the season. You're primed for the upset!

Two words for Hill this week: Garbage Time. I would expect about 100 yards in the first half. Score 27-7. Another 200 in the second. Score 45-27

Nope. Not in the FPC. Just like all the Lions this week except Best. Like all the key Patriots too. Vegas has the over/under at 51 points. If I was a betting man, I'd be tempted to take the over.

If you're right, then Hill + BJGE will be LARGE for me this week. Lawfirm produces very nicely when the Pats have the lead.

As much as I want to watch and root for hill today, I'm sitting him for Schuab this week. I just have a bad feeling about it. The Pats pass D will improve their rating today.

Anybody gambling on Hill next Sunday against the Bears? On the plus side, he'll probably throw it a ton and he's been a volume producer. On the down side, the Bears rank second in the league in fewest passing TDs allowed this season with eight (although it should be nine as the Lions know all too well).
