Beckham or Reyes (1 Viewer)

Reyes has been out for awhile and no return in sight with an additional injury. Beckham should get plenty of ABs.

The question - do I pull the trigger on this move or do I wait it out on Reyes? The worst part is was Reyes was my most expensive player at auction and Bekham is not a proven commodity.

If I make this move I could potentially make another move after June 15 to reacquire Reyes as my UT at the expense of Swisher. However I would have to wait until June 15th to do that move which would leave Reyes unprotected for the next 10 days.

The way I read your question is that you have no reserve or DL spots and are considering dropping Reyes to pick up Beckham.

IF that is the case I would at least wait for futher news - Reyes was supposed to get further word today on how the tear will affect his rehab and return.

BUT Beckham will not give you anywhere near the production that Reyes would and you likely won't get Reyes back, so I would be hesitant to make that move unless you knew that Reyes would be out for the rest of the month...............and is Beckham the best option for your team?

Excellent read, you are correct in your assessment. I am only allowed on non-injury move for the remainder of the year. Even if I make an injury move and replace a guy I lose the rights to the guy I replaced. It is a 20 team league - so pickings at SS are sparse. Someone did drop Stephen Drew...so really the best available choices are Drew and Beckham Aviles avaialbel as well but also hurt).

:goodposting: How does Stephen Drew get dropped in a 20 team league? Beckham may be great in a few years, but I would expect him to struggle for at least the rest of this season. His ceiling for the rest of the season is probably .270 and 8-10 HRs tops, and I would expect him to finish with a less impressive line than that.

When Drew was hurt earlier in the season, a guy dropped him for Asdrubel Cabrera (who went undrafted at auction).Due to the limited number of moves, Drew has remained unprotected. With the latest news on Reyes being out another 4-6 weeks, we dropped Reyes and picked up Drew just in time for his game yesterday. If Reyes comes back healthy we look stupid, but Drew will provide decent numbers I hope. If some fluke occurs and Swisher gets hurt we can always dump Swisher for Reyes if need be - if Reyes remains available.
