Belichick did have a nice moment with Dungy, but his behavior with Manning at the end of the game and since is annoying me. He was on WEEI, as he usually is, on the Monday evening drive with the Big Show crew. Each time one of the guys asked him about Peyton and his performance, his stock answer was "well, they throw the ball very well, they spread it around to a number of players," yada yada yada.
Not only won't he refer to Peyton by name, he won't even reference him as "he." This is getting a little tired. His behavior with Mangini was bad enough, although there he felt betrayed. But Manning? I don't get it anymore. I love BB, I love the Pats, but lets get over it. We lost....take it like a man and show some respect.

You and other listen to him on EEI. What gives? Is it shtick with him, or is he seriously this obsessed with holding grudges. And, if it's the latter, how did the whole Manning grudge get started? He's kicked Manning's ### enough in the past that I thought he'd be above this sort of nonsense.
I think it's THEY, because the receivers were generally running clean, as in blown coverages time and again by the secondary? There were a couple of nice passes, but be honest, Most were easy throws, because of the routes. It was a great TEAM victory by the Colts. Hence, the they. It wasn't Peyton Manning passing to Peyton Manning, with Peyton Manning holding the Dlinemen off. You're actimng like it was Blanda out there. Drop back to pass 3x, if that doesn't work, I'll drop back further and punt the darn thing.
Nah, it wasn't like that. Don't know if you heard the interview, but to me it was abundantly clear that BB was making a concerted effort not to recognize Manning, or at least make reference to him. You had to hear the silences by the talk show guys after BB answered these questions. I could almost see them looking at each other and saying silently "that was strange." Fred Smerlas and Steve DeOssie each asked questions about Manning specifically...after that, I think they were afraid to ask anymore.Look. I don't want to make much more out of this, but his behavior is curious at best and troubling at worst. On many occasions after games where they've won or lost, BB has referenced great performances by their opponent's players (well, mostly when they won, but you get what I'm saying). I understand the guy hates losing...I get that. But would it kill him to give a little credit where credit is due. As I've stated previously, I am a died in the wool Pats fan. Heck, I worked security for the Kraft's at Foxboro Stadium before they bought the team. I'm not impugning my allegiance to the team when I question the motives of its coach. A lot of fans will just brush this off or think that I'm out of my tree for suggesting this. All I know is that when I was brought up I was taught to believe what is put out in front of you. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.
Bill Belichick is starting to act like one strange duck.
