I recognize we're dealing with a player who is currently the 5th or 6th WR on this depth chart, but I play in deep dynasty leagues and his talent has always intrigued me. Also, he's in a strong passing offense with not a lot of talent other than TJ Housh in front of him, and they've just cut loose Kent and Payne who he (and Courtney Taylor) was competing with for the roster spots.

Does this guy stand any chance of developing and getting playing time, or is he just in the standard situation for a guy at that spot on the depth chart - a special teams player with only very occasional snaps on offense? BTW, I'm not only thinking of this year but next year as well with him.

It's bad enough this guy is in the White House, now he also has to be a part of fantasy football.

I expected big things from him last year as the window appeared to be opening. He always gets hurt at the worst possible times. Hopefully, he's over that, but needed a Branch release to kinda shake things up if he was gonna be worth anything. They choose to hold on to Deion.

Your league would have to be enormous for him to be considered for a dynasty roster spot.

I don't think it's fair to say he always gets hurt, he broke his collar bone last year. He really stepped up in game #4 when he knew if he didn'y play well he was gone. I don't see Branch making it through the season. So he is one injury away from seeing some serious playing time.

If you can you should really try to go after Butler, he's going to be the star on this team some day.

Grab him in redraft. Was promoted last week to a starter before Mike Williams was hurt, so he'll have value even after Mike gets back. If you have an extra roster spot in dynasty, I'd take a flyer on him. The opportunity's there, but the odds of him being a starter long term don't look great if Mike continues to produce and Golden Tate turns into what they think he will be.

My understanding of this situaiton is that his opportunity is a result of Tate's absence. He's played pretty well for two weeks now and sometimes that is all that is needed (the opportunity). I remember him being an intriguing "dynasty stash recoomendation" a handful of years ago so maybe he is just getting to get his chance. With the way things are in the NFC West, all those teams are still in it so I kind of like him as a move if you really need a guy or want to stash him for down the road because as long as the Seahawks are in contention, I don't think they will go away from what is working. So I could see them going back to Tate if they were out of it or Ben was doing badly but he's playing well now so I would go with him.

As a BMW and Nicks owner in 1 league, I grabbed this guy with my first waiver claim for emergency depth. Debated between him and Butler, but went with Obs since he just ascended to the starting lineup.

i think this is a good pickup in redraft...not so much dynasty. i listened to pete carrols local radio interview this week. they are going to focus on throwing the ball (suprise right...running game is awful). hass and the o.c. are on the same page now and they are opening things up for hass (look at the last couple weeks) i wouldnt worry about tate. way to many rookie mistakes and obomanu is not making these mistakes. carroll does not mess around...if you produce you are on the field...you f@#$ up and your on the bench or gone.

That's great intel from Pete Carrol's Seattle radio interview. Lends more credence to the idea of Obomanu being the real deal over the next few weeks.

So is he a good start this week if Mike Williams is out? I'm debating starting him over Hines Ward, Legarrette Blount (it's a PPR, so his value is limited), and Danny Woodhead.

i believe that brandon flowers will not be playing for KC this week in seattle either...stars are lining up
