Bench Points, % Bonus added to starters (1 Viewer)

MFL has the option to give each team a % bonus based on points scored from your bench players. I think it's an intriguing idea that gives a new spin on total roster management. It may necessitate adding an IR spot to rosters (but that's another topic...)

Anyone tried this before?

Many owners seem opposed to this idea (which is fine)- I'm just trying to understand why.

What problems might this cause, if any?

I would imagine it would make bye weeks sting a bit more. (More of an advantage for the team that has fewer players on bye for a particular week.)

I hate this idea. A huge part of FF is making the right decisions for your starting lineup. I don't like anything that would take that aspect out of fantasy football (that's why I don't play rotisserie), no matter how slight the % might be

I think it may also affect roster management (especially in the context of drafting) negatively, as some owners may feel they need to add solid but unspectacular vets to their bench (i.e. Mushid Muhammad) rather than taking a chance on high upside guys that may potentially break-out or bust.

It's not that bad if it just tips the scales slightlyMake it only worth +- 3 pts max (or something)
