**Bengals at Chiefs** (-6, 48) 4:25 (1 Viewer)

Hate when the ****ing zerbras decide a great game like this.
Unless you are in favor of players just interfering, holding and mauling each other down the stretch of games, obvious penalties have to be called. And that was an obvious one, unfortunately for the Bengals.
It was the correct call and a totally anti climatic end to what was such a good game.

That’s all.

It sucked.

That’s all I am saying.

I agree. I hate seeing flags in big moments decide games, but blame the players for committing the fouls.

Yeah, why are grown men in here whining? It was an easy and correct call to make.

The focus here will be on Chase costing Cincy w a dumb penalty knocking them out of FG range when they needed points
I could have sworn they kicked a FG that drive despite that flag.
They did, but based on his earlier post, I think CBS showing Taylor Swift for like 20 seconds in that game messed with his head.
13 year old kiddie pop stars jumping up and down on TV every KC game doesn’t appeal to my senses. Im not alone in that opinion

Nothing beats Kelce’s lil cheerleader getting yet more TV time jumping around like a fool on a big play - called back for holding

Is it okay for her to celebrate now?
Absolutely but it makes me happy that I don’t have to look at her jumping out out of her mind like a giddy fool

You don't have to look at it. Go stare at the wall, gramps. Some of us love her and get excited watching her be a happy human being. The horror.

I wonder what happens when they show, like, 10 young women jumping up and down celebrating like fools for 20 seconds. I imagine Cheerleaders just cause him to see red. :lmao:

Have a fun season General Malaise

Was it a penalty? Absolutely. Would every other team in the NFL get that call? Absolutely not.
Oh come on now.

Everyone complains when the Chiefs “get away” with holding calls. Didn’t happen today. Rice got mugged earlier in the game on that exact same type of play and wasn’t called.

Refs are never consistent in todays NFL. But that call is always called in any close game these days.

I know I am in the minority but I don't think it was pass interference. Yes, he made contact first but he is 100% going for the ball, not making a hit. He even avoids impeding the WRs arms. He does have every right to catch the ball. The ball is basically a jump ball. If you reverse the two players, no one would say it should be offensive PI. I am not a fan on either team either.

I don't think this is true. Th WR had inside position. Although you are allowed to go for the ball, you cannot go through someone to get it that has position on you.

When a WR jumps back for an underthrown ball, the DB isn't usually turned around so isn't making a real play for the ball. That is why it isn't called offensive PI in that case.

Maybe blame the defender that jumped on Rice's back ? Oh let's not do that........lets blame the ref for a most obvious PI call.
Dude……relax.

It just sucks a flag decides a great game like this…..relax.
the flag didn't decide it....the defender that earned the flag decided it.....that what you don't get and why posts like this are cry baby sour grapes ****.....

I think what you are really saying is that you wouldn't be happy unless the game ended with a CIN victory....anything short of that would have garnered "the refs helping KC".....

I'm as big a Chiefs hater as you will find. It was the correct call. Do I wish they missed that call? Absolutely. But it was DPI no doubt. Great teams bait lesser teams into making crucial mistakes and take advantage of it. I think that's also part of why you will see these calls happen. NFL officials know how great this Chiefs team is, how hard they are to cover on offense especially late in games, so opposing defenses are going to be scrutinized and looked at closely for any kind of penalty more than, say, the first quarter of the game. They're always looking out for penalties, it's their job to, but especially so when the Chiefs are on offense. As a Pats fan I've been blessed to see the entire Brady/Belichick dynasty run and know what that looks like firsthand. Great teams find ways to bait their opponents into mistakes and then take advantage of those mistakes (Malcolm Butler, Dee Ford, etc.). I can't speak for the BS of that Spags timeout that was allowed last week, but it is what it is.

Before the Chiefs fans lash out at me, keep in mind it goes the other way too. We saw it with Kadarius Toney last year in the game against the Bills. It was the right call then too.

Dude relax…..we like to see football games decided by plays….not flags. And yeah it was DPI.

But I have seen worse go uncalled FYI.

You know when you have watched football for 50 plus years and you see a great game decided by a flag…..it sucks period.

As a fan of the game. So dude relax.

guess I don't really see how this game was "decided by flag" if you admit it was indeed a penalty....?...."a play" (which is what you say you wanted to see decide the game).....couldn't be made by the offense because of the penalty....in fact, you could say the game was decided by a play....a bad one by the defense....

Agreed it was.

Wish the refs held the laundry in their pocket on that one…..because like I said, I have seen much worse go uncalled.

Anyway….it was still a great game.

McAfee put out a poll on ....was it DPI...?

48% said yes
20% said nope
23% said yup....but you can't call that
9% said Just a hater of da Chiefs....

McAfee said he had the most respect for the 9%.....

there is a ton of the 9% ers here in the Shark Pool....but most just won't admit it....

fair enough....but I think we need to get past the "I have seen much worse go uncalled" thing......that gets said a lot.....I think that could be said for literally every flag that has been thrown in the history of the NFL.....you will always be able to find an example that is more egregious that goes uncalled if you look hard enough....actually you probably wouldn't have to look that hard...

Agreed. I'm a 9% but I suppose a 9%er is also a 48%er? Least respect for 23%ers imo.

Not sure how anyone can’t understand the call after watching the replay no matter how you feel about the Chiefs. It was early contact on the receiver which prevented him from making a good play on the ball. They also had a holding call the prior play (?) that would have gone for a first down so the refs were not completely siding with the Chiefs as some would say.
