Looks like Rudi may need to be downgraded. With Anderson likely out and Levi a ? he

will have to make his own room to run.

downgraded for the pre-season??
No, this is a big deal. Posted my concerns yesterday in the Palmer spotlight thread. Jones may be ready for the regular season, but he left some doubt earlier this week. The Anderson story, if the boot is a suggestion that he needed surgery to assist his rehab, could be major news.Marvin Lewis said that Rich Braham had a "bone bruise" all last offseason and preseason and halfway through the season when he in fact had a major fracture in his shin bone. Anderson in a walking boot is bad enough. If they're hiding a surgical procedure -- Big Willie was in Atlanta "rehabbing" over the past ten days -- there are only two things that come immediately to mind when considering a foot injury that didn't "get better" in a timely fashion. Lisfranc and a poor healing stress fracture. Lisfranc injuries can be very difficult to diagnose. If not treated just right, the long term prognosis is very poor. Neither of those diagnoses would have Willie likely to play in the first regular season game, though, so there's reason for optimism.

Hopefully this is a non-issue, but losing one or both of the starting offensive tackles may be very significant news.

:excited: The Rich Braham situation last year makes me extremely leery of the Bengals' honesty re: reporting the true nature of injuries. I'm watching this situation closely - Rudi may be sliding down my boards depending on how the line is constituted during the 3rd pre-season game.

Palmer isnt top 5 QB this year. Not for the 1st half anyways. OL is missing its best players, no WR depth, no checkdown option in the backfield.

no checkdown option in the backfield.
 Did you think Kenny Irons was going to be a checkdown option? Kenny Watson Was and IS the pass catching runningback for the Bengals.
Irons would have taken some of the 3rd down work yes. Plenty of talk about that before his injury. Kenny Watson is a below replacement-level player who the Bengals do not need to have on the field.

I've heard some rumors of Plantar Fasciitis. I'm starting to worry about this one. :goodposting:
After the updated bengals.com article suggesting that Anderson's procedure was to "injure" the area to stimulate healing, I did some poking around. I couldn't find anything that suggested a "microfracture" like procedure for stress fractures in the foot, but I did find a mention of using high frequency ultrasound (similar to lithotripsy for kidney stones) to treat plantar fasciitis. It's been approved by the FDA but not proven effective clinically yet. Thanks for the post Rushmore. I think you may well be on the right track, especially if your source is solid.
