Benn or Briscoe? (1 Viewer)

Briscoe made some noise in preseason with Benn out. However recent I think Benn overshadowed him in the last preseason game. Who gets the nod here? I think either one could have some value as Tampa lacks a true checkdown option with Blount back there. This is a team on the rise with Freeman ostensibly getting better as he enters year three here. Article

Benn's snaps on Saturday came at the expense of the emerging Dezmon Briscoe, who has shined during training camp and the preseason. It's expected he will have a package of plays as coaches attempt to involve him, but Benn's unique talents are something the Bucs are intent on taking advantage of, too."He's a guy who has a lot of burst for us," coach Raheem Morris said. "He provides a lot of spark. He's a physical guy. He's going to catch that one pass and knock some tacklers off of him, shed some tackles. He's exciting. We're going to try to look at that every week, if we can.

Probably Briscoe to start with Benn being eased back in. Briscoe is a nice player but I don't think he has nearly the upside of Benn, so once Benn is healthy I would think he will take the #2 spot and thrive (IMO of course).

You think by October Benn surpasses him? Later on? Benn sure does seem to have some serious upside for late in the year.

I doubt Briscoe just fades to black here.

I think he will start and shine with TB this year.

Buy him cheap now before it's too late.

Both look good.

Benn has the higher upside, IMO and will hgave the no2 job sooner rather than later.

This season though, there may be plenty of yds and TDs to go around.

False. Blount has improved in the passing game. Plus, catching a check down pass is a little easier than motioning to the slot and running routes.

The Benn owners in this thread aren't giving Briscoe any respect. I guess they will find out the hard way.
Im sitting on both, so I'll gladly watch either explode.Briscoe has looked very good. No doubting it. Benn is also very skilled and has similar or better (IMO) upside. All depends who Freeman has the chemistry with... Tampa Beat Writers are all over Briscoe as having cemented the wr2 spot, with good reason

We heard this very same thing in regards to Michael Turner last season too.

I think once Benn gets going he could ultimately end up being the #1 WR in Tampa. I know it will not be this year, but in my opinion I think he's more talented than Williams.

And by the way, I own Williams, live in his hometown and root for Syracuse.

If you think that then you are not good at evaluating talent, your fired... :blackdot: Mikewilliams is by far the best wr on the team.. I really like Briscoe and think he will battle benn for catches and benn could end up being wr3 on the team... MWILLIAMS will be 1 for as long as he is on the team, don't kid yourself mr peterson.

There were some reports out of camp that Briscoe is the most physically talented WR on the team. If he gets some more experience, he and Williams will make a great 1,2 combo

The Tampa Tribune expects Arrelious Benn to open the season as the starter opposite Mike Williams.

"He's been looking great," Coach Raheem Morris said in late August. "He's looked powerful, looked strong." Dezmon Briscoe had been running with the first-team offense throughout camp while Benn was eased back in from ACL surgery. The Lakeland Ledger confirms that Benn has looked "extremely good" in practices, so he should keep Briscoe at arm's length.

I think once healthy Benn will be the #2. Briscoe, if he makes the most of the opportunity, won't become immediately irrelevant though. I'm assured Raheem Morris knows the value of QB confidence in a receiver and if a maturing Josh Freeman develops a connection with Briscoe the Bucs will find a way to keep him on the field. Benn showed enough ability before the injury to maintain his slot. This could eventually turn into one of those nice 3 receiver units.

I guess I had to learn the hard way :bag: I hope Benn plays well and Briscoe gets his chance to make some plays as well. Both are good news to Tampa Mike.

Took Benn w/pick #193 last night. While he clearly won't be starting for me early on, he certainly is well worth monitoring for the first 4 weeks or so to see how he pans out. TBMike, btw, was my 1st WR I got in round 4 (#48)

I actually considered dropping him for Walter last night via waivers yet to run, I have since changed my mind as I think he has more upside than him.

:lmao: that was a quick rebuke, as the Buccs OC publicly aired today that Earnest Graham will be the 3db.
