Bernard Berrian is REAL DEAL... (1 Viewer)

I'm sure he went un-drafted in most leagues....but Berrian is tearing up coverages. If you weren't able to watch him as a return man and WR in College......you probably think it's just a fluke. It's not.....he is and always has been a game breaker  :excited:

BB has some dance moves.....but Jerry and "M"it are the tango wangos. If the Bears us BB like they should we will be drafting him amongst the likes of Horn, T.J and Mason next season. Don't under estimate the heart this kid has. Grossman will look his way as much if not more then Mushin. :pics:

So this kids good huh? I havent seen much of him except from NFL halftime and sportscenter. I saw the TD he dove for and it seemed he had great closing speed to even get to the ball.

I picked him up in my keeper with TO going down, do you think he is a viable start against Minesotta this week? Its him or D. Bennett but Titans are downright ugly!

Im not sold on Berrian. With that said Im having trouble allowing myself to get rid of him. Somthings making me think I'll regret it. But really, to trade or not trade this guy is going to give me a headache this week.

Someone make a sales pitch please.....

I need a WR "Flavor of the week" and was going to grab Berrian, but then Reggie Williams looked noce last night.

Is he kind of like Lelie only better? I mean, either it's going to be a long catch or two in a game or nothing.

That's exactly what I said before Sunday's game. After watching that performance, I'm starting to wonder if I was wrong.

It helps that he played GB and Chicago. Lets hype him when he plays NFL defense.
The problem is that you have to grab these guys BEFORE they perform well against a good defense.

It has looked that way so far this year. But when he started coming on last year, he was making tough catches up the middle that Muhsin was dropping. Problem is, he soon got hurt. In a few games, he has shown the flashes to be a very good all around receiver. His health is the key. Bradley is much more raw and did not show the ability to go across the middle. He is extremely talented but Berrian will be holding on to the starting job the whole year if healthy. Bradley would jsut give Rex another deep threat that has to be respected. The Bears are also still very high on Davis but he hasn't been much of a factor in the regular season.I thought the Bears were correct in not going after Randle El, Burleson, Lelie, or Stallworth because of Berrian and to a lesser extent Bradley. My only question was injuries.

Berrian is producing, but if you are in a ppr you might want to look elsewhere. Also, there is a potential log jam at #2 with Davis being worked in and Bradley coming back. No doubt Berrian is the man now, and looks good, but not a lock IMO to be the #2 guy all year.

Barring injury, Bradley and Davis are not on Berrian's level right now and that will not change this year IMHO.

this was the first time i caught a bears game this year, and wow, is this guy ever good.

quick, decent hands and runs the fly route like its going out of style.

another guy i missed out on :wall:

Think I'm going to make a play for him in my 14-team league. He was just picked up the other week, might try to the old "hey, you're getting so-and-so for a guy you just picked up on the ww. that's pretty good value." Hopefully that pitch will work. :) I'd advise anyone else who wants Berrian to try the same.

Whoever picked him up probably hasn't played him yet. If you think he is the real deal, now is the time to strike.

Problem is Berrian has been doing it all season, and this game was on in primetime, so i think everyone is at the point where they know he's the real deal. If you can swing it,

I wasn't a believer 100%, and thus missed out. He's a great one to have.... Now that the running game is going and knowing the style of Rex (likes to take the risk and gun for it), Berrian reminds me of a young Javon Walker first coming on the scene a few years ago. Too bad. :wall:

Youtube clips are limited.....go to Yahoo Sports- NFL and at the bottom left corner click 2006 draft. You can bring up any round of the draft and view "highlight film" that is awesome. While you are there watch Maurice Jone-Drew's.........he is a freak of nature and should have garnered equal hype with Reggie.....no BS!

I said something last week about not believing in Chicago....I'm :officially: a believer, they looked DAMN good.... :football:

Im trading him in a package for Fitz. Im a believer. But I dont want to depend on him if I dont have to. He reminds me of Lelie, and he doesnt get top wr looks.

this guy is becoming a must start
:goodposting: i started him this week over joe horn and derrick mason.he is now entrenched into my starting lineup.
Berrian is certainly making my life miserable. For two weeks I've had him stashed on the bench (along with Greg Jennings) because I haven't been able to talk myself into starting him over CJ, Housh, or Driver. If Jennings goes off again tonight I'm going to end up seriously effed in the head.Berrian reminds me of Javon Walker of '04 (someone mentioned that earlier). Pretty much runs one route excellently, and Grossman gets him the ball. Between he, Colston, and Cotchery, WW wide receivers have been STRONG this year.

entrenched?
Dig it Joe T. He is a sandbagger. I was just talking smack coz Berrian was facing the Vikes at the time this was posted.Berrian and Grossman are both healthy now. So this connection looks solid as long as they are. The 6 catches for 70 yards against the Vikes impressed me. He was a difference maker even though he didn't score in that game and proved he can do more than just make defensive backs look silly on go routes.Right now Berrian is the 6th highest scoring Wr in my league so thats WR 1 numbers after 25% of the season. Not bad for a guy who probobly went undrafted in many leagues.
