Best African American SP (1 Viewer)

Gooden and Richard had similarly dominant peaks. Gooden's was probably more impressive, but he has the ugly drugged-out ending to it on the resume. Richard was in the midst of his best season when the stroke hit, and had that not happened this might not even be a question.

Jenkins wasn't quite as dominant, but was consistently very, very good which IMO makes him the winner.

Sabathia could potentially surpass all of them although he's got a ways to go.

I believe Ferguson Jenkins' career outlasted Bob Gibson's - would he count?
No, he wouldn't. He wasn't African-American.
African-Canadian
:goodposting: Fergie is, without a doubt, my absolute slam dunk 1.01 among African-Canadian SP's.
Fergie is African-North American. Shouldn't that count?
Gets awfully fuzzy, then, as it opens up the Caribbean (and presumably South America too, by name). Most of those guys have at least partial African heritage, and there have been (and continue to be) some truly awesome pitchers from the Spanish speaking world.

Keep in mind, Africans from South Africa can look different than Africans from other African countries.BTW, when I think of the North American continent, I usually think of just Canada, Mexico, and USA.

I'm afraid this whole post is a head-scratcher for me, for any number of reasons.

Honestly, it was just a crappy excuse to post that Charlize Theron pic.I do agree that technically, Fergie isn't an African-American.
