Best Division In Super Bowl Era - NFC East? (1 Viewer)

Just thinking about #### talking to the Cowboy, Skin and Eagles fans and realized - over the past 35 or so years, 8 teams have won three or more Super Bowls. Any other division come close to having three of those teams? The Skins and Boys did it during an era, while the Giants did once each decade.

You have your great teams - The Pats, the 49ers, Steelers but what other division can compete with the NFC east?

The AFC East does have the first SB in the Jets (but then they were the Jets), the Dolphins and NE plus Buffalo's best ever at 2nd place award.

If you're talking about winning SBs, then yes, the NFC East looks like they top the league.

If you widen it to participating in SBs, the NFC East showings are still very impressive, but the AFC East has played a large role in SB history, as well.

*One step faster than me, Koya. :bag:

As for actual wins, no. But the AFC East (this including teams that were moved when realignment took place because we can't penalize for the core NFC East remaining intact) has been a very good division.Bills - never won, but they had quite a dynasty for awhileDolphins - Another perennial powerhouse back in the 70'sColts - were moved in realignment, but still can be considered for this argumentPatriots - much as I hate to admit it

If you compare time periods/ decades, the NFC East still owns them ... besides the recent Patriots teams. Cowboys were better than the Dolphins in this 70's period...Skins/Giants were better in the '80s , although the Fins and Pats play in Bowls Cowboys and Giants were the better teams in the Bills "dynasty" era ... The Eagles and Giants (surprisingly) have been succesful recently ... but obviously not in the NE* class of the 2000's.
