FBG has many great tools to assist someone in drafting their team.

There's the Draft Dominator that one could take to their actual draft. Or one can use that to make customized cheatsheets based on their specific league's scoring system, starting lineup requirements, size of league, etc.

Customized cheatsheets can also be made from the VBD app or the Projections Dominator pp.

Or some may prefer to just use the latest and most recent FBG Expert Rankings - since afterall, that factors in over 15 different peoples' opinions.

Or beyond that there is the Top 300 which lays out not only rankings, but has the ADP info right there, along with whether someone represents value or not.

And even beyond that, Gray has the 150+ cheatsheets where one can simply click on the scoring system and league lineup requirements that are most similar to their league.

Or do you not use any of these tools?

And for those that use some of these - do you use the preset Dodds' projections to make your cheatsheet , or use your own projections, or use a combination of the 5 sets of projections on the site?

For comments: Which of the above choices do you use? Which is best? Have you used one and are switching this year to another one? Have you found one to be grossly better than another?

And in addition to which projections do you use - what about the baseline you choose?

I use the VBD cheatsheet. Taking a laptop to my drafts would tip my hand too much as I would be the only one there using one. I still feel like I have an advantage over the other guys than mainly use magazines.

I usually use the VBD sheet because its clean and simple, but I think I'm going to give the DD a whirl. My question is though, do the folks who use DD stand by every recommended pick?

I use the VBD app to print specialized cheatsheets (ie, for your league size, scoring system, etc), then I customize it with my own secret weighting system. Then I use this enhanced VBD cheatsheet in concert with an ADP list for my league type and draft the highest valued guy as late as possible based on the ADP.

I also use "The Perfect Draft" article every season to make sure my drafting results in a team built to win it all.

Whose projections are the VBD app based on...Dodds' alone or several FBG experts?

ETA: And what is the difference between the VBD and the PD? Just the fact that you can weight 5 different guys' opinions as you see fit?

Otherwise, it seems like the same thing to me in that you put in how big your league is in both, # of rounds in both, scoring system, lineup requirements, and everything else - in both.

Can anyone shed some light on the differences in the cheatsheet that would be produced?

Would also love to hear from the creators of the applications - either the guys who thought up the ideas or the ones who actually built and created them.

Joe? Bruce? David? Others?

like you'd use a designanted driver LP...
Whoa, whoa...FBG has drafting tools?
lots and lots of them.
Wow. How did I not know this earlier? Which one is the best?
hmm, not sure how to tell which tool is "best." I'd need some kind of criteria for ranking them. Usually, I just use the tools for entertainment.

Go by the DD for the top 50 picks or so. Also look at the estimated "ADP" of the suggested pick. If it suggests Antonio Gates at 1.05, but estimates an ADP of 3.09; you can safely ignore that suggestion and get Gates in rd3 still. After the top50, highly consider the DD's suggested pick, but also consider factors such as your team needs & bye week matchups. For example, I took Santana Moss as a 3rd WR (in a start 2WR league) over Braylon Edwards (the suggested pick) because Moss has favorable matchups in the weeks where my #1 & #2 WR have byes, whereas the Browns were playing like Baltimore & San Diego or some nonsense those weeks.

I try(and maybe not so well but I try) to come up with a sum of the above. Using any one tool seems limitting

Our league doesn't allow drafting software at our drafts/auctions after I won our Superbowl using DD. I won the year after using just paper and pencil, but that didn't seem to change their minds.

I generally take some amalgamation of the projections and create my own cheat sheets based on the scoring for each of the leagues I'm in.
