Best RB Round 10 or later? (1 Viewer)

Some later round RBs that I am targeting and how I have them ranked:

1. Chris Perry (if he slips) - RBBC committee with a chance to have a Reggie Bush like role. (Antsports 11.11)

2. Maurice Morris - The highest upside after round 10, imo. (Antsports 12.12)

3. Tim Hightower - Count me in the camp that believes he'll get 90% of the goalline carries plus a few other touches. (Antsports 14.10)

4. Pierre Thomas - More talent than any of the Bush backups. Still not 100% sold on Reggie's knee injury. (Antsports 12.07)

5. Andre Hall - Its Denver and Shanny could make this guy his starter if Selvin falters. (Antsports 16.11)

My list is similar to yours, but I also have on my radar after the 10th (but usually after the 13th):

Lorenzo Booker

Leon Washington

I'll put in a vote for Darren Sproles. Guy is electric and that offense is powerful.

Admit it is a sheer backup vote. I dont expect him to be relevant if The Man stays healthy.

I am not convinced that Chris Perry will ever stay healthy. Couple that with the big question mark that is Rudi Johnson and I think Kenny Watson fits the bill. His ADP is #138, according to FBG. That's about 12th round in a 12-teamer, end of the 10th in a 14-teamer. Could be a steal.

A good call.I'll say:Chris Perry and Chris Taylor.

I like perry, but he went in the 8th round in one of my leagues. ray rice went in the 10th. there's someone to watch. momo, chris johnson.

I agree. The word may be getting out on Perry. I won't take any chances. I'll start looking at him in round 8 or so and would love to draft Watson at the end of the draft..

I think Ray Rice may hold some very good value. Will McGahee hold up this year? And we all know Cam Cameron can make RBs look very good despite being on an anemic offense.

I think the Rice will be steaming and heavily involved this year.

Chris Taylor but someone said that, secretly the #1 RB in Houston (shh! it's a secret)

Lamont Jordan to fill the Sammy Morris role, worth the ADP gamble

Pierre Thomas to take over the Deuce role once Deuce inevitably goes down, only for deeper rosters

Leon Washington for once Brett realizes Thomas Jones is old

Anyone out there for Ray Rice? I see him projected around the middle of the 10th round and the starter is jogging in a freaking pool two weeks before the sart of the season.

Perry, but i think he's gone by the 10th in drafts from here forward.

Slaton is a guy I like and a situation that could work. I also like Rice, but I see him off the board right around 10.

Hightower could be interesting, and worth a late round flyer.

In my PPR keeper league (we keep 4 at the end of the year, any positions you want, 10 teams, 19 roster spots), I'm the proud owner of Gore, Barber, Chris Johnson, Kevin Smith, DeAngelo Williams, Chris Perry, and Tim Hightower.

Very few mentioned above was even close to 10th round and later in most my drafts. Spoils is! Rice hasn;t been making it thru 6th, if 5th! Perry 6th, Slaton even before Chris Johnson and Perry in 6th. You guys must not play in RB starved leagues like me! Hightower isn't even making it past 10th anymore. Close but no cigar for me. These guys adp is skyrocketing like a rocket. Jordon is a good one mentioned if he didn;t play for NE that is.

I will throw my sleeper hasn;t been mentioned.

Michael Bennett. I havn;t forgot them Minny days when he was a top 5 rb. Gruiden has been appaulding him and has not forgot either. He will be this years Graham of last year. Just watch! He has had over a year to learn the system. He has looked the best of all the campers in Tampa each week of preseason. He will get his chance at some point this year. I would mention a few more good ones but I am in late slow drafts and them RB thirsty thieves follow me around like gold on these boards knowing I know my stuff. haha If I mention them now they wont be there my late RB sleeper picks. I'll be back!

This is a test. only a test to see how fast Bennett dissapears now I mentioned him. hehe

I think it's a nice call. He's looked very solid this preseason. He seems to be running very hard. Best power/speed combo in that Tampa backfield.

Agree with most of what's posted, so I won't repost. That said, I like Slaton very late this year in PPR.
Agreed. Slaton is who I'm targetting. I think some of the others mentioned in here likely won't make it to 10th round. Actually, in my 14 teamer, I doubt Slaton does either. In my 10 teamers, yeah...he's good value and should still be there.I also like Leon Washington late. Hightower has been there late as well and I think he's worth a flyer, especially if you have Edge.

Kevin Jones in Chicago. We all know what he can do "if" he stays healthy, and behind a rookie he is sure to get his carries. Reports are he is running well and he has looked great in his preseason action so IMO it won't be long before he sees sign. action in the regular season.

In many drafts he isnt being drafted but I just don't think that Forte is the real deal and can handle the full load, especially lining up against 8 man fronts. Jones gives them a receiving threat out of the back field as well. He's worth a late round pick IMO.

I would say that Andre Hall and Pierre Thomas strike me as two I would look hard at as a 5th RB in the late rounds....

I ALWAYS try to get 3 solid backs and two with upside....I am hoping to get Chris Johnson as my 4th RB somewhere around the 8th-9th round....I just dont think the guys in my league are as informed as most here...sometimes I wonder if we (the over-informed) get too carried away and go too early on picks that we have EXTRA information on....the hype spins out of control...IMO

I rely fairly heavily on the ADP to cool my jets....

How many 10th round picks did you have???? :towelwave:

Good news about Rudi. I'm drafting tonight and tomorrow, but I don't think Kenny Watson will last until the 10th now.

I'm sitting on Rice, but I have Edge.... you think its worth swapping Rice for Hightower as insurance?I just think McGahee is going to fall over, probably sooner than later.

I love Hightower but I agree with you on Rice. I think I would rather have Rice because there is a good chance he will start based on McGahee's knee.

MOMO is on both my teams as a #10 pick. He will start over Jones and people are taking Jones before him. I also like Watson over Perry...and I just picked him up off the wavier wire.

Yeah - a real Greenspan you are. We all await your next pearl.

I hear ya. I love MoMo this year.His preseason stat line:15 carries, 100 yards, 6.7 avg4 catches, 24 yards

Kenny Watson - Perry's injury history makes KW a great sleeper this year. Watson can easily be a Top 20 RB this season. The deep, deep sleeper is DeDe Dorsey. He has played well this preseason when healthy.

The Steve Slaton and Chris Taylor combo is a great RB4/5. I do not expect Ahman to last much longer. Brown is on IR. This just looks like a situation that many will be kicking themselves on later in the season.

Had draft last nite

pick 11 of 12 teams yardage league only

Grant , graham rb's 1 and 2

Lendale in round 5

got rice in 7th round after someone picked Chris Johnson 3 picks before me. i was reeling on that one, but saw Rice as

GB plays Minn game one. i thought he gives good value at the time

got Kevin Jones in rnd 14

and pierre thomas rnd 20

rb's were not my strong suit wr's are

Moss (2), Colston(4), Evans(9), K. Curtis(13), Hagan(17) and Gage(20)

QB

Cutler (6), Pennington (15), Tav Jackson (19). I put my eggs on cutler having a great year w/B. marshall and TE happy offense

K

Gostkowski (11), Akers (21) My #1 rated K in draft (hoping Brady is ready) their schedule is easy

TE

V. Davis (8) was forced to pick a TE here as run was quickly draining all the good ones already, Carlson(16) It is a gamble in seattle

I agree with Slaton, Ray Rice and Pierre Thomas (who will take the Deuce Role in NO sooner rather than later).

The one guy I'm surprised that no one's mentioned is Dominic Rhodes. He's back in Indy, and knows the system inside out. Addai does have a tendency to get a bit nicked, and really wore down last year, going from 4.7 yards/carry in the first half of the year to 3.7 yards/carry in the 2nd. Rhodes will get 12-15 touches a game to keep Addai fresh, and will probably vulture some TDs as well.

In a 14-team PPR, I was able to get Slaton at 8.12 and Hightower at 11.3 (that pick drew a lot of positive reaction).
