Best rookie WR for a redraft? And a FA question... (1 Viewer)

I'm in a league that drafted well over a month ago. I picked up Chad Jackson in a late round, but with him missing so much time in camp... I'm second guessing that. I realize rookie WR's rarely make an impact, but I figure young unproven guys are worth a flier vs. someone safe that'll always be available on the waiver wire (like Justin McCareins).

I guess I have a couple questions:

1. Which rookie WR do you think has the best shot at producing this year?

2. Which of these WR's would you rather have on your roster for this year....

a. Arnaz Battle

b. Greg Jennings

c. Hank Baskett

d. stick with Chad Jackson

Not that it really matters, but my other WR's are Chad Johnson, Andre Johnson, Keenan McCardell, Braylon Edwards, and Troy Williamson. Need to start 3 each week.... and there really isn't much on the waiver wire that I'm considering besides the above 3.

Of course, at this point, your best bet in redraft would have to be Jennings. Baskett is also starting to get some love around here but in no situation do I see him taken over Jennings at this point of the preseason.

I still say Santonio Holmes will end up being an appreciable reciever THIS season but many seem to disagree. That being said he'll have to beat out Quincy Morgan and Cedric Wilson but those arent insurmountable odds. Even if he starts close to midway through the season, expecting 500+ yards and 3-4 TD's certainly wouldnt be out of the question. Could be a decent play if your league rewards points for the NFL playoffs.

WR Jennings Excites Packers' Brass

Brad Zimanek, Packers News - [Full Article]

The Green Bay Packers are giddy with anticipation about what WR Greg Jennings will do. but don't want to jinx a good thing too soon. "The kid is special," HC Mike McCarthy said. "He's a young guy that's really hitting his stride very early." Many think he has already surpassed Robert Ferguson as a starting WR. The only reason it might not happen before the season opener may be because coach Mike McCarthy doesn't want to put too much pressure on the rookie, but Jennings may do exactly what he was drafted to do — replace Javon Walker

what is Rod Gardner doing over there? he used to be decent ...

Training-camp surprise: WR Greg Jennings’ size is his only major question mark. That lack of size might create future durability concerns, but the Packers love everything they’ve seen from Jennings thus far. He picked up the West Coast offense like a sponge and, just as important in the eyes of the coaches, has picked up his game repeatedly to match or exceed the effort of household-name CBs Charles Woodson and Al Harris.

Fantasy sleeper: Jennings is also the Packers’ top fantasy sleeper. Don’t forget about RBs Najeh Davenport and Samkon Gado, but Jennings might start alongside Donald Driver in Week One. If he does, QB Brett Favre already has displayed great confidence in him in pressure situations, throwing his way in the red zone on a fourth-down attempt at San Diego.
