Best site to host league (1 Viewer)

I have one league (non-commish) on MFL and another (commish) on rtsports

And have to say for user friendliness and less hassle as a commish, I prefer rtsports.com.

But, that's just me.
Thanks, we are flattered! Here is to you! :banned:

I am not sure if CBS, RTS sports etc. offers this but one thing I like about MFL is that your league for every season always remains intact. My understanding is that it will alway be accessible even if you don't renew your subscription with them. Not a big deal for some but I really like the ablility to go back and check out previous seasons for my league.
Same with CBS.
In a word, NO! If you don't pay CBS for the next year, your previous seasons are kaput.
If you are in a keeper league the history offered at MFLhistory.com is sweet. I've been playing around with it a little. Pretty awesome stuff!!http://www.mflhistory.com/leaguehistory.php?id=13

I never see anyone post on here about the service that we use, but we've been with them for 7 years now and never had any problems at all.www.webleaguemanager.comIt's a company called First Place Sports, and I believe it's run through Fantasy Insights. Some collaboration between the two. They offer online transactions, real-time scoreboards on game day, a league message board and live chat room, online drafting, injury reporting, and more reporting than you know what to do with. A couple seasons ago they added an information service that would give you the latest news updates on your players for an additional fee - I haven't paid for it or tried it out, but I imagine that if you wanted that it would be pretty nice.Anyway - just thought I'd throw it out there as another option for you than MFL and CBS, which seem to be overwhelmingly what everyone uses.

I like Yahoo. Simple, Fast, and Free (if you want it to be).
...and very limited. Unless you want to pay, and if you do that, might as well get a better pay one.Used MFL for first time this year. Really like it overall, tons of customization abilities for scoring/etc, look n feel of the site is easy to set up and tweak (they even have some stock "skins" you can use) and tech spt was outstanding...but agree that the set up is non-intuitive. I'll still probably push for the league to use it, esp since it's such a pain to start over w/something else, but we might try a freebie site next year.

I have never liked MFL. I have never been a commish in that league but I played in one for three years and never liked the set up. Just personal opinion I guess.

I use Fanball Commish and I really like it but it had its problems this year too. Server crashes on game day....etc. I like it because the Commish has ultimate authority to correct any mistakes.
Fanball has had trouble with it's defensive scoring this year, but it got better as the season went on. They still aren't perfect, but I love them. I love the setup, the draft room, the league stats, and the customizable awards icons. If you 100% need reliable real time scoring, Fanball is risky. However, if you can live with a little kink in the live scoring that may or may not be fixed next year, Fanball is pretty kick ### on the rest of the commish stuff. It just depends on what you value most. I played in a CBS league as well. The matchup preview is neat and the live scoring is great. However, that have no customizable awards for your team page and the live scoring doesn't let you check the stats and fantasy scores for players that aren't on any fantasy teams. The free agent liasting could use some help as well. It also didn't display a playoff bracket at eth top of the page. Myfantasyleague is pretty good especially if you have a good commish. However, I don't know if they let you put up awards on owner's pages. I am telling you. Custom awards on your pages is AWESOME! If Myfantasyleague lets you do awards on your pages, then I say go for it. I don't like some things about it, but is has some cool custom features.

Anyone had any experience with EA Sports Fantasy Football? My work league decided to go with them this year and I was wondering what my experience will be like.

I am going on my 4th year on Fanball and they seem to have live scoring problems the first week or two and then its smooth sailing the rest of the year. Its like they underestimate how much bandwidth they are going to need every year and then fix it after week 2. I really hope that wont be a recurring issue for this year as well.

Otherwise it has been great. The draft room has worked flawlessly for us...its keeps all your history.....the scoring and set-up is highly customizable and the support seems pretty good.

I have been in leagues on Yahoo...great if you want a free league with no live scoring...otherwise as posted above get a better pay site.....MFL which I think is almost too customizable...if you have a commish who puts the time in to make the site nice its good but I as well dont like the draft room or the way they list the live scoring as much as fanball.

Good luck!

Whatever you do and wherever you go...don't use Fanball. From live scoring debacles to roster wipeouts to ZERO customer service (advertising suggests otherwise, but don't be fooled), they are a pathetic excuse for a Commish service.

Your league deserves better.

You know, this subject comes up all the time. I think it deserves it's own forum. The info about all the sites would be easy to find, and we wouldn't have to state the same thing over and over.
Or people could just take a minute and search before posting yet another hosting thread of their own...

Just a quick price check.. CBS cost me $116 this year with a discount code. I believe the standard fee is still $129. I keep seeing $150 being tossed around here, but, I believe it's $129. Yeah, it's still pricey, but I've never had any problems in the 5 years I've been there. It works out to $10 per team (12 man).

Their "Record Book" is a pretty cool "fluff" feature, but still cool to see 5 seasons worth of teams/All-time records. It's tough to remember who you had on your team in 2000 (if you even care), or how you've fared in the last 5 years... One of our owners is 61-24 (only one championship) in that time span. Not a true selling point for CBS, but, it's nice to have some history as well... That's what makes a league... Rivalries and past experiences. Nothing better than raggin' on the losingest team in League history (4 straight sub .500 seasons), only to have him bounce back with a Playoff appearance in 2005. Things like that help a league grow over time...

CBS works for us... :)
