Best Song (any genre) from 1970 to 1979 (1 Viewer)

Oh...cousin director etc?

Or is my brain playing tricks again.
Cuz had no connection to Sondheim at all til he made his Into the Woods into a flick 5 yrs ago. I saw Sweeney Todd on a date in the 70s and was as gobsmacked as i've ever been. to this day, i hear any song from it and i cant get it out of my head for days. such concept, continuity, arrangements....

My brain plays tricks...I play tricks back. [\peewee]

Sorry for the confusion.

This was what I came to post. (Time)

Perfect song.
I was with my son on top of the green monster one night.  Sox protested a call.  So as the umps were standing there.waiting they PA started blasting Time.  After the 2 minutes or so opening part of Time, they flipped the PA mid song to I Want You Back and the place went bananas.  Everyone was dancing.  I'll never forget that moment.  And the PA sounded so good!

Smoke on the Water -Deep Purple

Can’t You See -Marshall Tucker

Walk on the Wild Side -Lou Reed

Benny And The Jets - Elton John

Black Magic Woman & Samba Pa Ti - Santana

Double Trouble - Stevie Ray Vaughn

Dooo Youuuu Feeeel Like We Do!!! - Frampton

There’s lots of “best” songs.

Can’t say it’s the best - too hard to single out just one - but I would put Surf’s Up up with just about anything from the decade - and anything from The Beach Boys.

Yes, recording began in the mid-‘60s around the Pet Sounds era, but it was finalized and released in 1971.

Two of my favorite easy listening tunes from the 70s -

If you could read my mind - Gordon Lightfoot

Vincent - Don McLean

Elton John - Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding

Badfinger - Day After Day

C S N & Y - Country Girl

related to the 70s ...I just punched my refrigerated in my frustration of watching college basketball tonight.

I know the NBA has decided to throw out the rules for the sake of WWF-style dunks but WTF.

The rules say 1 step and a half.

I'm watching these guy take 3 steps and a hop.

#### you.

The 70s had a song for that

Awesome time for music. So many really good songs. So sad that now I can't get Convoy out of my head. 10-4!

Hard to narrow it down to just one, but these should all be in the conversation (IMO):

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Time - Pink Floyd
2112 - Rush
Foreplay/Long Time - Boston
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
