I love this Bills teams and they don't get enough credit but the 90 team lost to one of the worst SB winning treams of all time.

In fact, do the Giants have the worst collection of SB teams?
The 1990 Giants had one of the best defenses in NFL history, and were 13-3 that year. I don't think they are near the worst SB winning teams.
True, but the 2011 Giants were a 9-7 team who had one of the worst defenses that year (25th in pts allowed, 27th in yards).

In my opinion both of the 2007 and 2011 were worse teams to win the super bowl, then the 1990 version.

Here is a list of teams I think were worse then the 1990 Giants and won the super bowl

11 Giants

07 Giants

06 Colts

05 Steelers

01 Patriots

These teams I would put roughly equal to the Giants of 1990

96 Packers

97 and 98 Broncos

02 Bucs

09 Saints

10 Packers

12 Ravens

I can't really go back any further due to my age, I wouldn't have seen any of the games really and would just be box score hunting.

The Bills were the first team that popped in my head. Ridiculously talented and I never even considered the fact they could lose that SB, it was pretty much HOW MUCH they would win by.

For a 'coulda been team' the Eagles the year Randal got hurt really sticks out. They curb stomped the 9ers on MNF only to have Randal tear up his knee the next week.

8 votes for the 90 Bills and a few for the 94 Expos.

The 3 teams I listed in the poll FTR were 68-1 at the time of their respective losses.

Which part of my post do you disagree with, exactly?
Most of it... They aren't playing to cover a spread and could give a #### about gamblers, they are playing to win the game, period. They did so, for an entire amazing season, and until some freak helmet catch, would've gone down as possibly the greatest team of all time if it wasn't for that freak catch. The fact that they would've been argued as a contender for GOAT without a freak mishap certainly earns them a spot near the top of the didn't win it all list.
The freak catch is precisely why the margin matters. The first-half Patriots don't get beat by a freak catch. They win by 20 instead of 27.

It's not a knock on the Patriots. I voted for them in the poll. They put together the best 10-game stretch in the history of the NFL. Over the rest of the season, they were still great, but they weren't invincible anymore.

If they win that game, are they the greatest team to win a Super Bowl? If your answer is no, are they at least in the discussion?

2006 Sigma Phi Epsilon Intramural Flag Football team. Undefeated and a powerhouse in the fraternity intramural league until our fraternity got put on social probation following a party where a beer bottle was thrown at a passing car which turned out to be the President of the University's.

Yes, I do.

Do you think they were playing as well at the end of the season as they were at the beginning?

No, but at the end of the day, winning 16 games in the NFL is extremely difficult. To get through the whole schedule with no blemishes is amazing. On any day in the NFL, any team can beat another team. They're all pros... A bad day for an amazing day and an amazing day for a mediocre team could mean a loss.

bills lost 4 in a row. no other team has even been to 4 in a row in the NFL. those teams had combined record of 49-15, had 5 hall of famers and 1 hall of fame coach.

The 1995 Cleveland Indians are probably worthy of an honorable mention. They went 100-44 in a strike shortened season and fell short against the Braves in the WS. They were on pace to win 113 games over a full season. Solid lineup featuring Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Eddie Murray, Kenny Lofton, Omar Vizquel, Carlos Baerga, Paul Sorrento, and even an ancient Dave Winfield.

The 49ers went NFC Championship, Super Bowl, NFC Championship in 3 straight years before this last season. As a fan I'm debating if I'm just happier this season with zero expectations knowing they're a pile of ####, or the heartbreak of losing in big games.
