Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle is amazing. My favorite currently.Ah, yes forgot about these. Miss Vikies Jalapeno...Write in: Miss Vickies which may be #1.
Yeah - they are kind of hit or miss for me too - I'll buy a couple of the big bags when I see the Cherry BBQ flavor chips at Costco.Flawed question.
Hands down, the best chip available - no matter what flavor you want:

Snack Happy. Every chip. Every bag. As a local family run business in Northern Michigan, Great Lakes Potato Chip Company started with one clear goal in mind: Make a chip worthy of the hardy, fresh spirit of the Great Lakes region and its people.www.greatlakespotatochips.com
I agree 100% and I mentioned this above your post there, hands down my favorite chips when I can find them. The thing that irritates me about this brand (Great Lakes) is that sometimes I'll find them in Costco in some random area of the store. The next time I visit Costco they're nowhere to be found. Sometimes I'll find them in Sam's Club in some random area of the store, sometimes with the other chips, most of the time they're just not there. Sometimes I will find small bags in Kroger or Meijer on the bottom shelf with the generic store brand chips or at the very top in the middle of the non-chips (like with Cheetos or Funions or something.) I really don't understand why they are not on the shelves consistently; I find that really annoying and odd about this brand.
I like the wavy lays but the regular are decent if no other choice.Just had a bag of Lay's that came with the lunch sub I had for lunch.
Disappointing.
Because they have ridges?I don't understand how Ruffles is getting votes here.
For the record for the Michigan people here. Uncle Ray's chips are far superior to Better Made.
I'm with @Binky The Doormat -- IMHO (in my hungry opinion) Munchos is actually a very underrated and underservedly forgotten chip.
Binky calls out the value factor, which in these days of $4 9oz bags is fantastic. Absolutely prefer them over Lays regular brand as they are much less greasy, light and airy, and have more of a salty kick to them. They are generally thicker than regular chips, and are great for dipping given they have some curvature to them.
As a regular salted chip, they are pretty dynamite. My only issue is that like those prawn/shrimp crisps you sometimes...
Is she friends with Sue Ellen Mischke?I think it's "Oohtz," actually, and I think I worked with a woman down in D.C. who may or may not have been heiress to the Utz kingdom.
That was the rumor and I'm pretty sure it was true. We were all pretty young, so who really knew. Rumors at work are awesome, aren't they?
As long as you don't pronounce it Youtz like Joe Peschi in My Cousin Vinny.I think it's "Oohtz," actually, and I think I worked with a woman down in D.C. who may or may not have been heiress to the Utz kingdom.

I've drawn my line in the sand about this before, by the way.

Drove by the Better Made factory yesterdayI'm a little confused by Old Dutch being grouped with Better Made. Aren't they two separate companies?
Voted Kettle.
On the Utz pronunciation, how isn't it "uhhtz"?
Wasn't there an "Utz are better than nuts" ad campaign, or is that some sort of Mad Men/Mandela effect thing on my memory.
The good ol' days when $4 seemed expensive for a bag of chipsI think it's "Oohtz," actually, and I think I worked with a woman down in D.C. who may or may not have been heiress to the Utz kingdom.

I think Muchos are the bomb. Been saying it on this board since God knows. Like 2015 or something. Decade of Munchos.

I am glad you clarified because I have had the Lays version and they are meh.And I'm sorry you only get those Lays All Dressed down there. They're not in the same ballpark as Ruffles for All Dressed.
They used to sell a BBQ Munchos that was even better.I think it's "Oohtz," actually, and I think I worked with a woman down in D.C. who may or may not have been heiress to the Utz kingdom.

If you're in the midwest, Old Dutch makes a variant that is pretty solid as well (unless it's made for Canada market).I am glad you clarified because I have had the Lays version and they are meh.And I'm sorry you only get those Lays All Dressed down there. How would you describe the flavor? Its kind of BBQ but not really, its kind of vinegary but not really, it's just odd but interesting. I have only had it a couple times and I can see the potential but don't feel as if I have had a quality version. All Dressed is legitimately far and away the #1 flavour
Yeah, they do have that bit of vinegar (far less than a salt and vinegar that I could never eat a full bag of) and the smokiness of barbecue but there should be some garlic and onion sweetness in the mix that balances out the tang of the vinegar and the smoke of the barbecue, I think this is what the Lays are missing, so the balance of the whole thing is thrown off and it comes across as just a vinegary BBQ.How would you describe the flavor? Not sure I would call them my favorite thing in the world, but I am heavily addicted to both chips and fries.potato chips (and french fries) are my favourite thing in the world
Potatoes are great in any form but when fried it really is addictiveNot sure I would call them my favorite thing in the world, but I am heavily addicted to both chips and fries.potato chips (and french fries) are my favourite thing in the world
Same vibes. Also, potato chips (and french fries) are my favourite thing in the world, that question that always comes up of you have to give up one of meat, alcohol, sex or whatever... if you throw chips in the mix, I am not giving them up over at least two of those three alternatives. I figure if you removed chips and beer from my diet, I'd probably be about 160 lbs, rather than fighting tooth and nail to stay around 200, I'd also have far less enjoyment of life. Now my wife and I try to keep it to one bag a weekend but we have a spreadsheet for tracking different flavours we try, we both rate them all etc...
Her current favourite are Lays Old Fashioned BBQ. Like standard BBQ with an extra kick of spice.

I don't imagine people understand how popular All Dressed are up here, I did a count a while ago out of curiosity and there are at least 30 different brands making All Dressed chips and lots with multiple variants i.e. Walmart Canada makes Great Value versions of standard All Dressed, a rippled All Dressed, a kettle cooked All Dressed, an Extreme All Dressed (more flavour powder or whatever) and a "Scorching Hot" All Dressed, Old Dutch does similar (standard, kettle, ridgies, rip-l), every "store brand" has at least a regular version and probably a rippled and kettle version. We have All Dressed PopChips, Crispy Minis, Party Mix, it goes on and on.
I think people associate Ketchup chips with Canada and sure, we have lots of those up here too but All Dressed is legitimately far and away the #1 flavour and obviously the market demand supports more and more and more versions of it. It's kind of crazy but they are also my favourite, so who am I to argue.
maybe you have only had the Lays inferior version. Apparently Ruffles with ridges are superior. While I don't detest the flavor the Lays are just meh but I can see the potential.I absolutely detest all dressed chips.

I feel the exact same way as you do about chips minus the spreadsheet (that's just weird) but I am a certified chipaholic except that I'll go weeks on end w/out buying them b/c I will destroy bags of chips w/out thought, remorse, pity or mercy. That stated, I absolutely detest all dressed chips. They're right up there with warm, flat, light beer, burnt pizza and Oscar Meyer anything. My wife is Canadian, born and raised near Hamilton, she pretty much never eats junk food. My son and my wife WILL eat all dressed chips though, they both love them. I have become convinced it's a Canadian thing and that it's clearly genetic!![]()
Their Voodoo flavor is like crack to me.Zapp's Crawtators for the win for me by a large margin. Although I did prefer them when they were a local LA product and only used peanut oil. Not quite as good since Utz bought them.
I did a chip exchange at Bonnaroo, trading my Ruffles All Dressed for Zapp's Voodoo.. they are extremely good.Their Voodoo flavor is like crack to me.Zapp's Crawtators for the win for me by a large margin.
