Best True RB Handcuff (1 Viewer)

Based upon the starting running back for each team who would your ideal RB handcuff be? I am excluding RBs like Steward who are more of a RBCC.

Anthony Dixon (SF)

Brandon Jackson (GB)

Chester Taylor (CHI)

McGahee (BAL)

Snelling (ATL)

Bernard Scott (CIN)

Donald Brown (IND)

LT (NYJ)

Javon Ringer (TEN)

Other

I am leaning towards Anthony Dixon since Gore seems to miss 2 or so games a year and looks good. What are your picks?

I would argue that Willis is more rbbc than handcuff with 12 tds in a year. Also lol @LT being a handcuff, that isn't what he is there for.

The best true handcuff is probably Ringer or Scott.

Bernard Scott

Anthony Dixon

Both are basically the only guy behind "the guy" (Westy doesn't take much away from Dixon, or at least not more than he will from Gore) on offenses that could be very very good running the ball.

Huggins. I would say he has a pretty good chance of seeing the field. My bad I didnt get Snelling handcuf for Turner and now I am looking to trade Huggins for Snelling. Not happy about that

The clear "do-everything" handcuffs who would probably get almost of all of the touches the starter gets are:

Brandon Jackson

Javon Ringer

Why? Because they are the only RBs on the roster other than the starter. That's a major sign of confidence from the coaching staff. MM has come right out and said he feels good about Bjax as an everydown back if Grant goes down.

RBs that would get more than enough work to have RB2/Flex value:

Jason Snelling

Anthony Dixon

Bernard Scott

Rashad Jennings

Willis McGahee

Toby Gerhart

I hear you, but you also have to consider how the backup will perform if given a full load. This is why I prefer Snelling over more untested options.

the guys i would cuff are

mcgahee: he is proven to be a rb1 in the past, plus in an offense that should provide alot of scroing opportunity if rice goes down.

Donald Brown: if addai goes down its on! colts offense + brown=lottery ticket

LT2: has shown what he could do behind the jets oline.

Kevin Smith?Huggins? If either Deangelo or J Stewart goes down, how about Sutton?

For reliability I'd go with Snelling who won't be spectacular but he'll put up enough numbers so that losing your stud isn't going to ruin your season.

For upside I like Scott. I think given the chance Scott could very easily exceed Benson's production. Ringer's a close third for me due to system and talent.

a handcuff is a RB that is truly a back up. Turner to LT for years for example. some listed are in RBBC and are not back ups.

Maurice MorrisEarnest GrahamMaybe... but last year, Stewart was the man when DeAngelo went down.

Snelling was strong last year, but that was a function of ATL line as much as it was Snelling. I think when evaluating handcuffs, situation can be as big as talent. Even a street free agent can get 100 and a touch on a winning team that controls the line of scrimmage.I have to think that TEN and GB's faith in BJ and Ringer as the only backup RB (and no additional moves after camp cuts to get a #3) gives us an idea of how they would perform if given a full load. Scott had 20-99 last year vs Oakland, I wouldnt worry about him. Dixon also benefits from a very strong situation, wouldnt worry about him either.

Snelling 1A, Gerhart 1B

All things depending, but if the Turner owner waits too long, Snelling is the kind of RB I'd draft in late rounds.

what about tashard choice? if either barber or jones go down, doesn't his value immediately skyrocket?!

If this is a fantasy oriented question, the choice is McGahee in my books. Late round pricetag, ability to produce at 80ish % of what Rice can do and is therefore the best insurance policy for a high first rounder.
