Who do you guys like for a fantasy defense for Week 8? (and possibly beyond)

Here are some options that may still be out there......

-Jax D vs Clev

-NE D vs STL

-Wash D at Det

-SF D vs Sea

I would go with SF vs. Seattle IMHO. I think NE got the benefit of Cutler getting hurt and STL is showing life, Jax hasn't show much and Clev while awful in 2008 has shown life as well lately (Giants D had 0 points against them I believe), and Wash while decent doesn't ever seem to score on D or get a lot of sacks/TOs. I have TB in one league and Seattle looked atrocious without Hasselbeck. If it weren't for their kick returner, they probably get shutout. They had 3 first downs on offense well past half time, maybe even into the 4th quarter. Engram is their best receiver right now and he has 1 reception in 2 games which I hope shows how bad their QB has been. Also, Seattle is a lot worse away from Seattle, so SF at home should shut them down. I haven't looked at future schedules so no input on that.

Definitely SF given the intangibles that the coaching change brings on top of playing a team in complete disarray. If Singletary can limit Martz's pass-happy attack, protect the QB and feed Gore the rock, SF definitely has the personnel on defense to be solid for the rest of the year. If not, they're at least a good play this week...

By careful with SF if you get penalized for score. They have given up 29, 40, 30, and 31 pts in the past few games. And, they haven't recorded a sack in 3 of those games. Are the Skins worth starting over the Bucs def?

I'm actually expecting NE to put up a good game. St Louis is a fluke. They never would have beat Dallas if Romo was in there. And we saw how good the Skins were last weekend against the Browns.

If Steve Jackson is out, I can't see the Rams moving the ball very well. Cassell and company are moving the ball pretty well of late. The rams won't even score 14 pts.

Does Romo play on defense? Dallas allowed 21 points in the first quarter to the Rams. They, like Washington, just assumed they'd waltz in and pick up the W. By the time Dallas realized they had to actually play the game, they were down by 4 scores. That said. I'm rolling with Jacksonville for the next few weeks. They've got a nice soft run coming up... Brownies, Bungles, Lions.

I'm starting Washington at Detroit this week but I think a deep sleeper for this week is Seattle at SF. Earlier in the year they sacked JTO 8 times and scored a defensive TD. Over half their defensive points this year came from that one game. JTO hasn't been playing well lately so I could see maybe 2-4 sacks and an INT or two, maybe even a lucky TD.

I'd only go that way if I was desperate, though, or looking for a home run play.

I'm going to roll the dice with Jax vs the Browns. Cleveland will be without Winslow, and Lewis still runs like he is in quicksand.

I am a little curious why FBG has the Carolina'D ranked so high this week going against the air attack of Arizona. Any ideas??

I have both Carolina and Jax and I think each one has favorable matchups the next few weeks so I an reluctant to drop either one for the hopes of a 1 week only matchup.

Totally different game with Romo in there. Brad Johnson was horrible that game. He was leading the 3 and outs...Good luck with Jacksonville. I would wait after this week. The browns need a win, and they wont be turning over the ball very much. They have a great OLine that gives Anderson the protection. I'm hoping Quinn goes in this week. If he does, your D is in trouble

If you are looking ahead. Arizona has St. Louis, San Fran, and Seattle the next 3 weeks. St. Louis, Minnesota, and NE in weeks 14 - 16. Not too bad for a decent defense

Jax will give you three good weeks in a row, starting this week.

For a one-time start, Jets look very good this week. As do the Pats.

 Yeah, because he's proven he can go into Jax and shred them. You should ask Brady Quinn to the Prom! :goodposting:

I'm going to take a flyer on the Browns D vs. JAX. They may get run on a bit, but I don't expect the score to get out of hand. Plus, I'm expecting them to shut down what little passing game the Jags have and maybe get a pick or two in the process...

What about Carolina vs Arizona? :goodposting:
 Hoping for a repeat of Warner's last trip to the East coast.
I'm need a one week defensive play this week. Trying to decide between Jax and Washington. One question, any insight on why FG has KC defense ranked so high?

As a bay area local watching all the niners games, basically everyone thought Mike Nolan did not take any risks. There were never any blitzs and they were so predictable. Hopefully this changes with Singletary. So about the niner not having much sacks. This might change really soon.
