Best Waiver Wire D's for weeks 15 and 16? (1 Viewer)

Whatchall thank?
I was just looking at this as well. Some of the better ones I have to choose from in a few leagues (so they should be mostly available):Bills BengalsRaidersRamsJetsI was leaning toward the Bills, but they haven't held anybody below 21 in 3 weeks and just lost a starting LB. Cincy's been on fire, the last 2 games, but play Indy week 15 b4 playing Den week 16. Raiders are at home week 15 and 16 where they've been doing fairly well, but only have average matchups (StL and KC). I'm starting to think the Jets are the way to go: Week 15 @ Min, Week 16 @ Mia - not too bad. They also haven't given up more than 14 points in their last 4 games (played NE, Pac, Chi and Hou), and they look like they are playing hungry...

If Seattle's on the WW in your league (and they are in mine) I really like their schedule the rest of the way:

Week 14: at Arizona

Week 15: vs. SF

Week 16: vs. San Diego

Week 17: at Tampa Bay

The Week 16 matchup (Super Bowl week in many leagues) isn't very appealing but I like the next two weeks and if your league goes through the end of the season I like their final matchup quite a bit as well.

I know the thread only asked about Weeks 15 and 16 so my apologies in advance for including this week's matchup as well.

I had picked up STL a few weeks ago intending to play them @OAK & vs. WAS (15&16), but after they got lit up by AZ at home, I'm hesitant to play them (our league awards/detracts for yds/pts significantly, and its not uncommon for a D to net negative points).

I put in a bid for the Jets and hope to get them. They've been playing well and I really like their wk15 matchup @MIN. MIN is now a good opponent to target IMO for fantasy Ds to play.

I also like the Browns, they play TB one week I believe.

I know Buffalo hasn't been so great of late.. but I still like 'em for weeks 15 and 16.

Week 15 @ home vs. the Dolphins on December 17th (brrrrr!)

Week 16 @ home vs. the Titans on December 24th (even colder)

Neither one should be high scoring affairs...

Pittsburgh.

They get the weak Brownies and their backup QB this week.

Should be a huge week for the PIT D.

Wk 15 is Carolina, not great, but the way they are turning the ball over, could be OK. Next is Baltimore, which is OK. Cincy is wk 17, but all my leagues are done by then.

I'll take the big pts in wk 14 and deal with 15 and 16 as they come.

Arizona has been scoring a lot of fantasy points lately and gets Denver at home week 15. Cutler should be good for some turnovers. That's who I'm going with.

Personally, I can't think much beyond this week (our first week of the playoffs). Believe it or not, I'm picking up the Niners, face Green Bay at home. They have been a feast or famine defense, getting 20+ points of -5. Horrible on the road, but a different team at home. Gunslinger Favre will take some chances, and I like the Niners to win the game anyway. Risky play, but I like the upside.

what about week 14 for people still trying to make the playoffs  i was thinking the Jets
i was leaning titans for week 14.
I was thinking about the Titans as well, but they haven't registered a sack in their last 3 games...they're getting alot of picks, but picks are harder to predict...NYJ has 14 sacks in the last 5 games, and are playing almost (key word) as pathetic of an offense in the Bills...

I am holding onto KC just for the week 16 matchup at Oakland. KC's performance last week made me a little nervous.

Waiver wire D's, waiver wire ;)But I must say I've been tempted to dump Pburgh on a few weeks :(

I like the Packers D.

week 14 - @ 49ers

week 15 - Lions

week 16 - Vikings

Packers at home in weeks 15/16 in the snow against 2 dome teams...I like it. Also, if the Vikes are out of it by week 16, Bollinger or T Jackson will be starting, so there is definitely a chance for turnovers.

Already have Steelers D on the roster. Deciding on whether or not to pick up one of the below, looking at weeks 15 and 16 (bye in week 14). Leaning towards Vikings as they have the best D out of the below options and I'm suprised they are available, but Chiefs have a great week 16 matchup, and Cards with Denver at home in week 15 also looks nice. Opinions?

Packers D

week 14 - @ 49ers

week 15 - Lions

week 16 - Vikings

Vikings D

week 14 - @ Detroit

week 15 - NY Jets

week 16 - @ Green Bay

Chiefs D

week 14 - Baltimore

week 15 - @ San Diego

week 16 - @ Oakland

Cardinals D

week 14 - Seattle

week 15 - Denver

week 16 - @ San Francisco

I'm going week to week. If I win I'll worry about next week. Just picked up Cinci at home vs Oakland. No way Cinci D doesn't rack up some type of decent points for me this week.

PITT is out on waivers in my 12 team league. Just got cut like 2 weeks ago. They have been pretty poor fantasy-wise this season. With an important 1st round playoff game coming up... I am seriously thinking of picking them up myself at home vs. the Brownies. My only concern is a lack of intensity with the short week. Have a feeling its gonna be a real uneventful game.

In my main league, if you add up the points scored by the defense facing Oakland every week, that defense if outscoring the Bears D and the Ravens D by a small margin.

Therefore, I'm going with the Rams week 15 and the Chiefs week 16.

:goodposting: my thoughts as well, esp in week 16.

There's no sure thing when it comes to defenses, but starting whoever's playing Oakland in a given week is about as close as you come. They haven't scored more than 22 points all year. Brooks has thrown five interceptions in the three weeks he's been back.Week 14: CincinattiWeek 15: St. LouisWeek 16: Kansas CityI've got the Baltimore D, but I just picked up both the Rams and Chiefs defense to take them off the board for whoever I play those weeks, assuming I advance.

the only thing I dont like about the Chiefs D in Week 16 is the fact that its in OAK, taking away the chance for some snow at least cold weather in Kansas City...if that game was in KC, thats the hands down WW D to pickup.

I like GB vs Minn in week 16 as a sneaky play. GB gets a lot of sacks. Plus Minn leads my league in defesive team fantasy points allowed over the last 3 weeks. If Brad Johnson gets benched I like GB even better.

That's an excellent plan.I'm thinking of dropping San Diago for Cincy.

I have a bye in week 14, and I own 2 fantasy defenses right now. In week 15, I plan on playing the Panthers at home vs. Pittsburgh. The Panthers will still be in the playoff race, even though they haven't played well, and the Steelers will be out and playing for nothing. Rothelisberger has been a turnover machine this year.In week 16, I am using the 49ers at home vs. Arizona. I believe this is a revenge game for the 49ers, and the Niners, while still in the playoff hunt, are simply trying to show improvement. They are a young team that is improving. Meanwhile, Arizona can't run the ball and their offense on the road is usually pretty suspect. The Niners D has been solid at home all season.

Hope you're not in my league... beat ya to it! That is a great plan though. My week 14, 15, and 16 are planned. Just hope I can get 'em.

I was thinking about picking up the Rams defense this week because they've got the Bears at home, Grossman has been a human turnover machine lately, and Dallas (my current defense) plays N.O. I'll definitely be picking them up now that I realize they play the Raiders next week.

I have Carolina week 14 vs the NYG

But on WW is

SEA vs ARI

PHI vs WAS

OAK vs CIN

BUF vs NYJ

TENN vs HOU

I was thinking about picking up SEA

The Indy defense is on my ww, and I am giving them some thought. They play home week 15 vs. Cincy which isn't great, but week 16 @Houston may be good. They should be getting Sanders back in the secondary, and have good special teams. Also available are the Rams and Raiders which I am giving some thought to...I have the Cowboys and Steelers.

Nope. I'm pretty sure none of the people in my league visit this site. Nice move! One other reason I like the move is that I really don't like to have my starters playing against my defense. San Diago plays Seattle in Week 16. I've got Alexander. So, I'll grab Cincinnati, the Rams, then the Chiefs for the championship.
