Better offense this season (1 Viewer)

When trying to comb through the waiver wires I notice that the Bears and Bucs are a pretty even comparison as a team. Both have:

A young QB in terms of total NFL starts

Offenses keyed by the rushing attack

A solid veteran wideout (although Galloway and Muhsin are very different players)

Young and iffy second wideouts (Berrian or Clayton)

Good defenses (Bears are great, jury is still out on Tampa's for this season)

So which of these teams is going to finish better. The Bucs have faced much stiffer competition thus far. But the Bears have feasted on both division foes they've faced. I'd say two weeks ago this would have been tilted heavily in favor of the Bucs. But now I don't know. I think the Bears could be the team the really surprises everybody in the NFC and perhaps NFL by advancing far far (dare I say all the way) into the playoffs.

The Bucs have had some injuries, but they appear to have made a critical error in letting Griese get away from them. Caddy is obviously very talented but quickly looking like he'll be the next Fred Taylor. Thomas Jone's numbers are down but the strength of the GB and Det defenses are their front 7 so that's not really a surprise.

So who finishes better on offense from this point forward?

I think you can go ahead and dare to say it since they were in the playoffs last year.

As usual, Sabertooth trying to be clever and bashing the Bucs.

I can't believe this is a serious post. With the Bucs standing at 0-2, though, I guess we could have expected Sabertooth getting some digs in somewhere somehow.

Anyway, let's first start by looking at the divisions they play in. NFC South - competetive, quality teams. NFC North - GB and Detroit - enough said. They should win that division going away.

Second, take a look at their schedules. The Bucs schedule is brutal this year. The only easy games on the schedule for the Bucs were the Browns and the Saints, but with the way the Saints are playing, those don't look easy at all now. Then look at the Bears. 2 agains GB, plus Buffalo, SF, and the Jets. And a marginal one against the Rams. That's a lot of gimmes or near-gimmes.

Their offense will look better by default because of a weaker schedule and Tampa already hurting on the O-Line.

Actually, now that I have finished writing this, I am mad that I spent time on this useless topic.

New Orleans beat Green Bay, but Minnesota beat Carolina who was considered at the beginning of the season to be the class of the entire conference. So I guess I don't buy that whole business of the NFC south being very much superior to the North. Heck Detroit took Seattle to the very end and lost on a field goal in a 6-9 tilt. So saying you have quality teams down there and that we don't up here is premature at best. Looks like you have two 0-2 teams as well. All those teams you listed outside of the division for the Bears are 1-1 teams. So the Bears may not have it as easy as you assume.

I guess after reading your post you are conceding that the Bucs offense will be the weaker. You could have just said that.

You know the more I read that post be DenverBuc, the more I am confused.

Are you saying that me suggesting that a team that has scored 60 points' offense (Bears) to a team that has scored 3 (Bucs) is a slap in the face to the Bucs?

Color me :shuked:
