LOL........I didn't respond to your poll becuz in my mind, it is not even close. But go back and look at the dynasty poll for QB's, and let's say you'll find the answer you are looking for.

There is only one place that you would find Tarvaris ahead in a poll like this...a Minnesota message board. I actually like Tarvaris, but Cutler has the potential to be one of the next great QBs.

I cannot believe I opened this thread, voted, and took the time to type this post. This is one of those moments that I will reflect back on as I am lying on my death bed wanting 30 seconds of my life back.....

April fools day was two days ago.

Next poll...Who's better Brady or Delhomme?

Voted Cutler twice. But FWIW, Jackson is a guy Id love to have on a dynasty roster as a QB3. I wouldnt really even want to lean on him as a backup Q at this stage, but in that O, with a very strong 'West Coast' coach like Childress, a dominant running game, Rice and now Berrian and an obvious committment to scoring and running an exciting O, Im seriously intrigued with the kid at this point. That Denver situation and all that's involved with Henry and Marshall and Shanahan's age, etc really worry me. I want no part of Cutler in the long term. He's obviously got the talent and the arm and seemingly the smarts. But as an NFL QB, there's something aloof about the kid that I just cant put my finger on. And he's not really a proven winner. He should have a successful career. But who knows? You get a new coach in there and the wheels start falling off, alot of things can change.

I couldn't disagree more with regard to Cutler. I love the way the kid plays. He's got an absolute cannon for an arm, is very strong, sheds tackles well, has decent scrambling ability, he's very accurate and not afraid to put it in small windows like Favre. Improve the line and get the running game going like in the past and this kid is money. I'll be looking to try and grab he and Bulger next year.

I really cant disagree with you. Id basically fall in line with everything youre saying. But how much longer will Shanahan coach there? And how many drafts will it take to rejuvinate that line and stock up with receivers? And there's been an inconsistent running back carousel there for a couple of 3 years now. He has all the 'surface' tangibles. Like I said, there's something intangible here with Cutler that just doesnt give me the 'lock-stud' certainty. I dont know if its in the way of leadership or intensity or desire. I dont seriously question that at this point because he's a young guy with a world of potential. But the thought does come up, and he doesnt have a tremedous history of winning coming from Vanderbilt. They were 2-10, 2-9, and 5-6 his last 3 years starting. Not blaming him, but that's just horrible. I dont question his physical talent. But bottom line, does he really know how to win on the NFL level? That will ultimately determine his long term success in the league. Not his cannon arm.

I wouldn't downgrade a player because his coach may retire in a few years. There's been no rumors of that so that shouldn't be a real consideration, at least it isn't to me. The line may take a bit of time to fix to get back to where they were. WR wise, they have a super talented Marshall but could use a good #2, Stokely is a good #3, and they have promising TE talent. Winning is a team thing and there's no QB in the history of college or the NFL that can will games all by himself. He's got the tools, intelligence and I think the intensity to win. Plus, I'm talking more about FF propects, not so much about NFL prospects and FF wise he finished 11th in his 1st year as a starter with 3500-20-14 with nearly a 64% completion rate.

Im with you. And I'll stay short term fantasy with you. Say, next 2 or 3 years. There are no public statements suggesting Shanahan is stepping down. But he's entering his 13th season in Denver, which by current NFL standards is an incredibly long tenure. History alone suggests he'll retire or move on soon. But I have not facts on that matter, so I wont dwell there. Cutler and Marshall have been good. But outside of Marshall, what else to they really have? Sheffler or Stokley? Yuck. Not gonna kill Sheffler. I realize he's a capable receiving TE. But as the #2 passing option for my fantasy QB? Not liking that. Stokley just doesnt do it for me. He's old and he's about due for another of those seasons where he plays 6 games. And the Marshall injury doesnt concern you? The guy's gonna miss some serious time healing up without putting in the work that all upper-tier players need. I dont expect anyone can just step out there with a month of prep and perform at the highest level. You take Marshall's '07 #s out of the equation, and Cutler's #s fall significantly. And I dont know where the production is coming from if not from him. Like I said, leaning on Stokley at this point as a #2 is a major risk, imo. I would think they'd be looking at a WR in the first 2 rounds of their draft. But working in young kids can take time. You can draft Dwayne Bowe or Chad Jackson with the same level of expectation and completely different results. Lots of uncertainty there. You never know 'til the guy suits up what you'll get. I like what Cutler has done his first couple of years from a fantasy perspective. But there's alot going on here to think about. Personally, Im probably not touching him this upcoming year. The Marshall injury situation alone is enough to tame my expectations. But I realize he's got too much talent to not consider him this year and for the next few. But in my opinion, he still has a ton to prove.

fair enough....

This is like a who was a better QB, Joe Montana or Steve DeBerg, poll.
This made me laugh out loud.Thank you , except for CC, for voting. I am a Vikings fan and visit the linked website. Several posters said I was an idiot because I think Cutler is better than TJackson. Jackson beat Cutler in their poll. I just wanted an unbiased opinion to back me up. I am trying to bet a case of beer on this topic.Thank you for contributing to my first poll.
