portis got healthywhat happened over the winter?
It has been quiet since week 1.the betts bandwagon who was blasting portis all offseason is pretty quiet at the moment
Are you serious? What happened over the winter?? Portis got healthy. He's not the starter currently. Why the heck do you think he didn't go in the first 2 rounds in fantasy drafts? Good lord, use some common sense.eom said:I've been sitting on him trying to vulture portis, but I'm wondering if he'll even put up #'s as a starter --- he blows.what happened over the winter?

Why is this? Esp. after what he did as a full time player last year. He has zero value if Portis is healthy, but to say RB3 as a starter doesn't make sense.LOL at Betts being a lottery ticket, he'd be your RB3 at best as the starter.

whyI think the odds are pretty good that portis gets knocked out, which is why I started this thread.
So all 6 of the defenses he faced last year were terrible? Six games were just a fluke?I agree he doesn't look good at all this year. If you look at the games Betts performed in well last year, they are against the worst defenses in the league at the time, literally. It was a bit flukey, IMO.LOL at Betts being a lottery ticket, he'd be your RB3 at best as the starter. Sorry, but he just isn't that good.
yep, kinda like Portis.LOL at Betts being a lottery ticket, he'd be your RB3 at best as the starter.
I will assume you fall into the category of Fantasy Football players that only remember the year before. Prior to last year he has missed 4 games. 1 of those were in a Redskins uniform, last year the only reason he even went on IR was because, the Redskins were out of the playoffs, otherwise instead of missing 8 games he would have missed 4 Please feel free to constantly assume that players are hurt and cannot produce all year, it is good for me and anyone else that can remember not only when a player was hurt but why they were hurt.Portis does get dinged up as the year goes on, I challenge you to give me the name of a NFL RB that has never appeared on any injury list.he's constantly hurt and at least one of his knees is gimpy, so if I'm picking him or tomlinson to go down first I'll pick him.

uh...and how would that be good for you when we don't play in the same league?gotta work on the zingers, dude.I don't really care what he was up to 2 years ago, because right now he's on gimpy knees.anyway, this thread is about betts, not portis.would it help some of you guys if I could get the thread subject in a bigger font?I will assume you fall into the category of Fantasy Football players that only remember the year before. And fumbled in 4 of those 6 games. The cardinal sin of any Joe Gibbs team. If there was another option Betts would not be playing. Sorry but that's it, pure and simple.st louisphillynew orleanshoustoncarolinaatlantathose would be the d's he lit up.he scored in 3 of those games - twice v st louis.
You guys are missing the point here, intentionally I hope. The question is why is Betts looking so bad this year as opposed to last year when he looked much better, regardless if he's not the starter now.Are you serious? Exactly. What happened over winter? I love that. Its like Portis was never the starter, now he is getting all the carries WTF??/ How did that happen???
He's no longer running through aircraft carrier sized holes like he was towards the end of last season. His YPC may increase as the season progresses as the running game hit its stride, but I doubt you'll see his carries increase too much barring a Portis injury. You guys are missing the point here, intentionally I hope. The question is why is Betts looking so bad this year as opposed to last year when he looked much better, regardless if he's not the starter now.Are you serious? Currently 60% of the offensive line is different than what Betts was running behind last year - Jansen and perhaps Thomas are lost for the season, and Dockery left in free agency. Only their LT Samuels and their C Rabach are still there and healthy. They ran left twice in a row at the end of the Giants game because that's currently the strength of their line. I personally think that a healthy Portis would have averaged over 5 yards per carry the second half of last year given how well that line was blocking, but we'll never know. What's being exposed about Betts is that he's a good RB at decisively hitting the hole he's assigned to hit as he showed last year, but as between him and Portis, Portis is far more adept at seeing alternative holes and cutting to hit them, so Portis is more successful right now ad libbing as needed. He's no longer running through aircraft carrier sized holes like he was towards the end of last season. Not many are missing the point. This was covered extensively by everyone pre-season in the Portis/Betts threads. I think it is even less than that. With the injuries on the offensive line Betts would be a marginal #2 at best.Betts value now is exactly the same as it was heading into the season. 100% of his value lies in Portis getting hurt.
