Big deal? Yes? No? (1 Viewer)

took the wifes new toyota in for the 10k maintenance on friday

arrived early for my 9am appt.

Checked the vehicle in and took a seat in the waiting area.

Waited for my name to be called but it never was.

Eventually around 10:20 I walk into the service area asking for a status.

They were unable to locate my paperwork so they checked with the Parts department.

My paperwork wasn’t there either. Eventually the paperwork turned up somewhere but they couldn’t locate my keys.

Eventually they found my keys. Apparently someone else signed for my car.

So I waited in the waiting room for an hour & a half for someone to call my name . probably should have started looking around at the hour mark but i was being patient.

Finding out some random person signed for my vehicle makes me also question if the work was even completed on my car?

thoughts? overreacting?

tl;dr?

People wait at the dealership while services are being done?  I thought everyone dropped off in the morning and picked up after work.

Wow you were actually seen at your 9am apt?  My dealer actually said "an appointment just guarantees your car will be seen today"

but to your question, yeah probably a big deal.

What happened to men taking care of the cars on Saturday morning with a nice big cup of coffee? Especially 10k service?  Oil/Filter change, check fluids, tire pressure, air filter, lights, done. Easy as pie and the satisfaction of knowing it was done right.

If I am doing work on the car I am fairly certain that I wouldn't have any feelings of the work being done right....hahaha.  Not a car guy and don't take any enjoyment from working on a car.  I can do some basic things but prefer not to take the time and frustrations that come with that.

The 10k is included with the purchase and Still under warranty

WTF are you asking us if this was a big deal? You were the poor schlep that had to wait around all morning, you can’t figure it out?

This. I haven't waited in the lobby since... Maybe when my Mom took her car in when I was 8?

Done this plenty of times. Always get the first appointment of the day on Saturday. Go by myself, grab a coke out of the vending machine, and use their free wifi to goof around on the internet.

In and out in an hour or less, and no wife and kids screaming or dicking with me. It's bliss, man.
