Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (4 Viewers)

Purdue is just feasting nside against Michigan.  Easy bucket almost every time.  I doubt if Michigan can keep with with Purdue.

Horrid.  Just absolutely horrid.  Terps were in the bonus with 10 minutes to play and decided to start shooting threes instead of going inside.  The game was theirs for the taking, but they played, and were coached, like garbage.

Except for that huge block by DD near the end, that last 4 minutes were some of the worst basketball Ive seen State play all year.  We gave MD so many changes to take the gam, so lucky it bounced our way.  We won but Im not happy at all how we played the entire second half today.

I'd guess the Terps will be looking at a 5-seed.  One bracket this morning had them a 5 and Purdue a 4 in the same region.  I can't imagine the committee doing that, obviously.

That was a hell of a tough game.  We should learn from that and be ready.

I still see MD going pretty far into the tourney, depending on their seed and region.  They will give a lot of teams fits.  If Trimble starts heating up, I hope we don't have to face them again.

seems like any effort to shut down forbes is easily done if they just deny him the ball.. Need to be rolling off a screen to hit anything and smart opponents wont let that.  He then losses confidence doesnt even try to get open and harris is out with fouls for 5 minutes and the offense looks stagnant

I think things will open back up for him in the NCAA tourney.  He's been atrocious from three since the Rutgers game (4-17).

Agree to a point.  Thank goodness that McQuaid and Ellis have been contributing solid minutes for those times.

With only 6 or 7 teams, no way would any Big 10 teams meet before the Sweet 16.  And teams in the top 4 seeds won't even bee in the same regional.  All their rules make it tricky too do too many last minute moves.  I am sure they already have about 95 percent of the tournament set.

Lunardi had the Terps as a #5 in the South yesterday (with Purdue the #4).  Today he has the Terps as the #4 in the East.  Not sure I understand that.

Summary for where he has the B1G schools today...

Sparty #1 in the South
Purdue #4 in the West
Indiana #4 in the Midwest
Terps #4 in the East
Iowa #6 in the Midwest
Wisconsin #7 in the West
Michigan - First four out

I assume the Boilermakers would slide up to #3 with a win today.  Considering that the game won't end until 5pm, Purdue may well get slotted in at a #3 regardless.

I still think Michigan gets in.  There are no teams out there on the bubble who have 22 wins, are in a top conference, have 4 wins against top 25 teams, and have zero bad losses.  Michigan worst loss was probably on the road to Ohio State.  Michigan is being punished in many computer rankings because the bottom half of the big ten really were poor this year, so Michigan lacks having other top 100 wins.  But the committee tends to look a big wins, and that is what will put Michigan in.  Computer rankings are all over the place.

I also think Purdue and Indiana get a #3 and Iowa a #5.  A 7 for Wisconsin is a bit high.  More likily an #8-9.  I thnk Purdue is already a #3 and there is zero chance the result at 5pm is going to change it.

Final bubble after overnight "scrub." IN: Temple, Michigan, St. Mary's. OUT: Monmouth, So. Carolina, Vandy. A... http://es.pn/1Uq5dxD
Weird.  If you actually open the page, it still has S.C. and Monmouth in and Michigan and St. Mary's out.  Obviously, you could pick any of the teams in that ballpark and not see much difference between them.  UCONN could theoretically enter that conversation as well, if Memphis steals the automatic bid today.

I think UCONN is in regardless. That is a scary team come March tourney time.

For comparison, CBS has MSU as a 1, Purdue as a 3, Maryland and Indiana as 4s, Iowa at 7, Wisconsin at 8, and Michigan in as an 11.

And yeah, if we figure UCONN is in either way, Memphis knocks a bubble team out with a win.

We played 12 guys that half and 11 of them extensively. Purdue played 9 guys and only 7 for more than a couple seconds. Like the continued big effort by Ellis and Clark.

Winded bigs and guards with tired legs isn't a great way to end a half.

Both teams playing well and battling hard.  Should be a good finished.  Pretty clearly the best two teams in the Big 10.

Virginia as a #1 over MSU is a joke.  Hopefully they in are the same bracket so they can punk Virginia yet again in the tourney.

Michigan got screwed.  NCAA not giving the big 10 any respect.
Agreed I don't see how Oregon State with 12 losses and a 9-9 conference record is a 7 seed and Michigan has the play in game.  The West bracket is an absolute joke and surprise surprise no big 10 teams out there.  Probably sick of teams like WI kicking ### out there.

I think the ncaa intentionally set up that IU Kentucky matchup.  That will be a huge huge game.  Two teams which hate each other.
