Biggest busts Week 1 (1 Viewer)

Brides Maids

With the questions about his knee and his average draft spot I'll take MJD as a bit of a bust this week!

Im going with any Steelers on offense I don't think they will be shut out but I expect small numbers across the board until Ben gets back.

Beanie Wells, already announced he's not starting, he gets 10 carries for 38 yards and 1 reception for 7.

He was the first one I thought of too. Also Spiller. Sharing carries, on a bad team, good chance of playing from behind. Doesn't matter how talented he is, I don't see him putting up big numbers.

I dont think he will be sharing much at all. Even if they get behind i can see a bunch of dumpoffs to him.

Jamaal Charles. I'm getting the feeling he will be grossly underused early in the season due to his idiot coach. I'm starting him anyway & hoping I'm wrong.

I think people will be asking what's wrong with Chris Johnson after this week, until a few weeks go by, and everyone begins to realize the Raiders are just that much better this year.

Shonn Greene.
I think Shonn will take it right at the Ravens and carve them up for 100 yards and a TD. I'm not benching him and I have a nice RB3 option. You know Rex Ryan is saying to himself "F-bomb the Ravens.....I'll run right at them and beat them at their own game....we'll see who's tougher". That's just how Rex thinks. You can tell from watching Harknocks.

Dang, this is starting to look like a thread for you guys to post my roster.

I have: Shonn Greene, Mendenhall, Spiller, Kolb, & White.

Sure hope you guys are wrong.

Kevin Kolb
I am really amazed at how much people are just assuming a guy who has started all of two games is going to come out firing right out of the gate. Most likely scenario is he has a year very similar to Stafford and Henne last year.

Kolb's situation is a lot more similar to Aaron Rodgers 2008 than Stafford. Kolb has 3 years of learning the system under his belt. I'm not saying he's as good as Rodgers but he's not coming "right out of the gate" so to speak.

Similar to Romo as well. In fact, are there any guys recently who sat for that long and DIDN'T do well right out of the gate? Didn't Rivers sit a couple years behind Brees and learn? I feel like if a guy lasts that long AND spends it all learning one system, he's probably got a much higher chance at success than anyone tossed in right away. (Assuming similar collegiate pedigrees of course)I'm excited for Kolb, I think he very well could come firing right out of the gate.

The problem early on will not be Kolb but the O-Line, which has injuries and looked terrible in preseason. I could see the GB D-Line causing major problems for Kolb in Week 1. That being said, he'll carve up the Lions in Week 2.

Finley by only getting 3TD 142yrd in the first game thus grossly under performing expectations.
I have him down for 12 receptions, 221 yds, 4TDs, a blocked punt, a blocked FG, and a fumble return for a TD plus a safety.
That's the first half. What about after intermission?
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
My guess is that he would kick the game winning Field Goal, just to see what it feels like...

The only one I can think of is Garrard, who sat for 3 1/2 seasons and was just OK when he finally got a chance to start on a regular basis.Oh, and Ty Detmer. Tried to replicate the success of Favre's previous backup (Brunell) but failed in Philly.

Shonn Greene, Michael Turner, Ray Rice, MJD(possible Injury)
I agree with Greene and Turner, disagree with RR and MJD. Ravens will shut Greene down, and nobody is running on the Steelers this year with Aaron Smith and Polamalu back. Rice will be limited on the ground, but will get his through the air via dump-offs. Flacco will be checking down A LOT with Revis locking down the entire Ravens WR corp all by himself. Just read a blurb last night on Foxsports.com about MJD, and how he is disgruntled by all of the reports about his apparent knee issue. MJD says he is fine, and has no idea why people are reporting that he has knee issues. He will be tearing through the Broncos humidified D in the 4th QTR, racking up some nice numbers for his lucky owners. My bust for the week is Cutler, especially in leagues that penalize for turnovers. Not sure how high of a draft pick he was for people, but many are counting on him as their #1 QB this week. Detroit's D-line will be applying relentless pressure all day against that porous Chicago O-line. I can see at least 3 sacks from Vandenbosh, and Suh may just whet his NFL appetite with one himself, and a boatload of QB pressures.

Hey, easy, easy now..I am starting Crosby this week..don't be sending me to the waiver wire for a different kicker!!

I don't think Kolb can be considered a bust when he has yet to prove anything. People don't think highly of him so all he can do is go out and suprise people.

a bust is someone with high expectations who doesnt perform. kolb fits the mold, and some.

I don't have high expectations of him early in the season. Because he doesn't come out and throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs he will be a bust? Once they get their O-line in order I think Kolb will produce. Those who drafted him thinking he will be the next Aaron Rodgers are crazy.

Detmer didn't stay with the same team...I wouldn't quite qualify him in the same situation.

Beanie will put up terrible numbers as will Boldin. I am hopeful about Kolb. He has some experience and success, great wide outs, and a very good TE. If McCoy is anything at all Kolb could do just fine. Maybe even top 5-7 QB this year plus they throw alot. That helps.
