Bill Parcell's the GM? (1 Viewer)

In short, Parcell's might be considered for a GM position in Miami.

Obviously just speculation, but from what I'm reading on Dolphins sites, Huzienga is ready to shake things up substantially. I personally think that Cam is safe for at least another year, but the rest of the staff should be on notice.

Doesn't look like Parcells wants to coach again but what kind of GM would he be? Giants, Patriots, Jets, and Cowboy fans, what do you think?

I think it would make him a complete hypocrit. He wanted full control in New England and left because of it, if he takes the job in Miami, how is that any different other than him being on top?

Did he want to be Head Coach AND GM in New England? I would assume that as a GM he would not be involved in coaching decisions like play calling, philosophies, etc. which is what he's done all these years. GM would be a whole new ballgame: hiring, firing, personel decisions, etc.

He's a great personnel guy. Dallas wouldn't be where they are today w/o him. I think it'd be a good move for the team.

"If they want you to cook the dinner, at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries." - Bill Parcells

I wonder what he would do if his coach felt the same way...

I guess the Randy Mueller experiment failed, huh?

the reason Parcells would take a job like Miami, is simple: he'd probably have the #1 overall pick in 2008...

this is seemingly a good draft for QB's..maybe he has his eye on one of them? they have a good RB in Ronnie Brown, assuming he can come back from the torn ACL, but Cameron also has experience with Michael Turner, so if R.B. can't go next season, it wouldn't surprise me to see them take a shot at signing Turner..

But, if the rumors are true, I'd think the biggest reason that Parcells wants to go to Miami, is because he'll battle against Bill Bellichick 2X per season...

all of this Bellichick love and praise as the best HC ever, probably kills Parcells..Also, if you think about it, the AFC East is a division in shambles..the Jets are lousy, Buffalo is turning the corner , but they're still years away, and the Patriots are only getting older and older ( aging mostly on the defensive side)..I mean, how long is Bruschi going to play? or Vrabel? or Rodney Harrison?

I know its all pure speculation at this point..

you have to love Parcells, though..the guy has no fear whatsoever, when it comes to working with lousy , hapless teams..He turned the Jets around, the Pats, Dallas, NYG, etc..he's a reclamation project guru. Now, can he do it as GM, who knows..

I wouldn't rule out Parcells taking a shot at both the HC + GM positions in Miami...

Very True. People like to throw out the fact that Dallas didnt win a playoff game while Parcells was the coach but there is no doubt he left that team in MUCH better shape then when he took over.

He had some great draft picks for Dallas hit on a couple of 7th rounders which is a luxury. Jay Ratliff (7th round) starting NT, Marion Barber (4th round), Terrence Newman (1st), Jason Witten (3rd) Bradie James (4th) Patrick Crayton (7th) Chris Canty (4th)
