Helps with the passing game, Martin might be a good TE #2.

Buffalo Bills ink Martin. Some added to the practice squad

Paul Hamilton Reporting

The Bills have added an eight year vet at TE. David Martin, who played in Miami and Green Bay has signed. Buffalo also claimed guard Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Steelers. To make room, TE J.P. Foschi and DB Dominique Harris were released.

Martin had 34 catches two years ago with Miami. His first six season were with the Packers while the other two were with the Dolphins. He's played 101 games in the NFL and has started 43. He and Jonathan Stupar are Buffalo's only tight ends until Shawn Nelson's four game suspension is over.

Urbik was drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft by the Steelers. Despite being on the roster for every game, he was never active for a game last season. He was All Big 10 twice with the Badgers.

Added to the practice squad so far are WNY native WR Naaman Roosevelt, RB Joique Bell, FB Rodney Ferguson and T Jason Watkins. All four were undrafted free agents signed by the Bills after the draft. Roosevelt played at U.B., Bell Wayne State, Ferguson New Mexico and Watkins Florida. He joins David Nelson who also made the team as a undrafted free agent out of Florida.

Like the Urbik signing, Doug Whaley now in Buffalo drafted him in the third last year and now will provide some much needed depth. He was good at Wisconsin.
