Blacked out Charger games (1 Viewer)

Move that team out of the freaking town to where fans actually care about having a team to root for...

or start going to some of the games.

get xm radio and enjoy it the chargers feed.

if you lived there would you buy tickets?

I used to have chiefs tickets... I don't think I'd rebuy them at half price... going to games sux compared to seeing them on tv

And it's not like they're only getting blacked out because they were 2-5. They were pulling down blackouts back when they were 2-2. They've won the division for 4 straight years after starting 2-2. The Chargers' blackouts are the most shameful thing I've seen since Miami failed to sell out a home playoff game against the defending champion Baltimore Ravens.

Not sure whats going on. I owned season tix 2006 and 2007 but i lived about 10 mins from the stadium. Its not a difficult place to get to in terms of attending a game but if you live in LA or north county its a bit tough. Most of the premier opponents will sell out. Not surprised jax and ten were blacked out. Maybe its the losses of LT, cromartie, vjax, mcneil etc. If its blacked out, its still possible to see live sections of the game on the redzone channel or like others have said - xm/sirius.

San Diego is a city full of transplants. Everyone is a fan of their hometown team and that doesn't leave anything for the Chargers except those who were born here and the band-wagoners. The band-wagoners are the first to jump ship when their new favorite team starts playing poorly. So yes, the losses of L.T. (especially him) and the others are hurting ticket sales.

That being said, I feel like there are a lot of people in town here who have come to expect this sort of thing from San Diego sports franchises. It really seems like a key component to operating a team of any sport in San Diego is to release or trade your veterans before their careers are done. the padres and the chargers have been consistently doing it for years. This leaves a general bad taste in the mouth of some. Why should I as a fan care about this organisation when it feels like the organisation itself doesn't care about their team and their fans. L.T. leaving really struck me as wrong. The guy cried in his farewell statement and he clearly loved sd as much as sd loved him. He gave his career to this city and made the franchise a contender again. He was rewarded by being cast aside as if he were garbage. Maybe instead of dumping the face of your team you draft some o-line help and a blocking fullback who could fit into the shadow of lorenzo neal. Really feel like the chargers played that one poorly.

I am not a person who feels like these teams deserve my undying allegiance. I am and will continue to be a fan of the chargers. However I find myself disliking the clearly business first mentality of the front office. Money is king with the Spanos clan. So, as far as ticket sales and game blackouts go...If money is king then I think I'll hang onto mine and watch the game online.

The only mistake the Chargers made with respect was not keeping Michael Turner when they had a chance. A 1700 yard season by Turner in San Diego back in 2008 would have made the Charger fans forget about LT quick, fast and in a hurry. Winning cures everything and San Diego fans, more than most, want a winner or they are going to spend their entertainment dollar elsewhere.Under Marty and Norv this team has consistently underachieved in the playoffs and another slow start by this team along with the Jackson/McNeil situation left fans thinking the team cared more about money than winning. San Diego fans are tired of slow starts followed by winning streaks and early exits from the playoffs. So even if they reel off eight in a row the Charger fans will greet that with skepticism and cautious optimism at the very best. The fact that LT is having a nice season in New York is only salt in the wound, not the driver for what's going on in SD.

Well said Chaka. I didn't mean for my post to be a LT rant, guess I've been holding in some bitterness on that particular subject.

We'll trade you the Raiders and throw in a compensatory draft pick.
Done.If only to see the reaction from Charger fans. I could probably start an online video service to rival YouTube just with videos of all the Charger fans losing their minds.

As a resident of greater Tampa Bay, I hear ya. And the Bucs are actually winning a few games here an there. Heaven forbid they make the playoffs and have a post-season home game at Raymond James -- we probably wouldn't get that one either. But there is still a lot of season to go, so...

Bottom Line: It's all about the money. Please give my regards to the Accounting Division of the NFL.

I can't speak for Dr. No but I don't go to games because I pretty much hate all people. They're loud, obnoxious, demonstrate questionable hygiene and typically use very poor grammar.

:loco: By and large, most people are morons and idiots with no common sense or manners. Unless I'm in a luxury box watching a game with wealthy morons and idiots, I tend not to go to games in person. At least in a luxury box, you have your own bathroom and can move about away from the really severe case morons.
