Blackjacks 1st mock draft for 2010 (1 Viewer)

As for the OP, if Sanchez gives the Jets the green light on him, and he grades out as a first round pick, I think Damian Williams is the pick. I think it's a bit too early to start figuring out what rounds players go in, as Williams isn't a 1st rounder in a bunch of mocks I've seen.

The Packers will not touch RB the first day of the draft. Ryan Grant is similar to Roger Craig and they are using him in that manner in their offense. He might not have the receiving yards Craig did but that is due to rule changes, much better WR's than those San Fran teams.Packers go CB or OL the first day. They need a CB to bring up because of Harris and need one because Woodson might move to safety and/or age. OL speaks for itself.

Not bad. SF will never trade up though, especially for Bradford. He'd probably fall to them anyway, if that's who they were after.
I think if they want Bradford, who is made for their spread offense, they will have to get infront of Buffalo. They do lose they midfirst round picks but they also get that earely #2. I think it would make perfect sense.
Exactly right. There's not much of a chance Buffalo passes on Bradford. My only worries would be if Seattle picked in front of us. I could see them going with Bradford as well.

The Eagles signed Peters and upped Winston Justice. While OLine is definitely in the cards, I doubt it's an OT in the first.

As good as the Jets defense has been this year (even missing Pace for 4 weeks (more like 6 as he took a while to get going) Jenkins going on IR and Rhodes playing like a girl) they almost have to go offense in the first round.

Unless a slam dunk impact player at NT, DE or OLB (Gholston...barf) falls into their lap, i think they go offense. I've always liked Damien Williams and would be glad to have him. Edwards will be back, but like Chase said, teams do not have to game plan for Cotchery or Edwards. Each can be single covered without a problem. I don't like the idea of spending another early pick on a RB. Greene is going to be a good player. Unless the next Chris Johnson is out there, the early picks are better served elsewhere.

a stud 3-4 DE would really take this defense to an absurd level. Basically, they need a Richard Seymour. Of course, Richard Seymours don't grow on trees.

And please, no tradeups this year. The jets need to use the middle rounds to build depth on the lines or take some flyers on some athletes who slip on draft day.

Spiller in the first or McCluster in the second would be a nice fit. Both of those guys would be the sort of playmaker the Jets could really use. McCluster is undersized but he's the first SEC guy with 1000/500 in a season. I'm not sure he'll be a star in the NFL, but I think he'll be a very solid player. I don't know if Spiller can translate his game to the pros, but he was playing on a totally different level than the other team in a bunch of his games this year.Of course, I'm not sure I have the confidence in the Jets coaching staff to develop and take advantage of either player.

I don't know. I listened to new GM Buddy Nix talk and he stressed building the line and getting a "strong armed quarterback".I'm thinking we go left tackle.

The Lions have so many needs and in all honesty.....I believe th is pick will be traded for multiple picks (due to depth of DF Line in draft). Beyond that, they really need playmakers and I believe if the pick is kept, they will take Suh (if there) or Berry (who will play corner for them and where he is actually projected to play inthe NFL). I believe RD2 will be a DE or OL and you may see multiple DL and OL players taken in this draft.
I would love to see us trade out of the #2 spot. But very rarely do we ever get to see a monster trade like that happen. It's too much for teams to trade up to that. Perhaps if Suh somehow dropped to #2 a team might want to trade up, but I would love to see us take Suh if the Rams passed on him.I agree with you all that Delmas has looked great. I will admit that I scoffed at the pick last year, but am very glad to state that I was wrong. Very rarely do I have to admit that in regards to picks by the Lions. <_< But if we were to draft Berry, couldn't he be plugged in at FS, since Delmas is the SS?
I think your in luck. St. L will not be drafting Suh IMO. They will try like hell to trade out of the #1 pick and like every other team that does find out it is nearly impossible so they will aim for a franchise QB, Claussen. Det will hit the lottery and Suh will go to them at #2.

Jets really need a punt returner, too. With Leon out, the Jets have been brutal at returning punts. Revis was drafted to handle some of those duties, but obviously that plan wasn't going to work out. If the Jets make Washington a bigger part of the running game (or he's not back next season), they could use a WR/PR.

Houston Texans: Jonathon Drwer RB

Even with Foster looking like a legitimate NFL talent, nothing wrong here. Other positions people consider need, CB, FS, interior OL, and DT. I am tempted to sugggest they need to upgrade WRs not name Andre Johnosn also.

Cant see the Eagles taking an OT.

They actually have depth there. Next yea Stacy and Shawn andrews come back, both have experience at the position. If anything they need a center unless jackson can come back.

LB LB LB, DE, S

Who knows what Al Davis is going to do on draft day. One thing is for sure the pick will come out of left field. Mays is too logical of a choice, and Al has been horrible at drafting safties in the 1st round the past 10-15 years. Patrick Bates (bust), Derrick Gibson (bust), Michael Huff (average at best). My gut is telling me Al will go defense this year, the fastest LB or CB at the combine.

it has been a bit frustrating watching Cotchery basically fall forward on every return. At this point, its hard to get excited for Leon coming back. He's a tremendous talent, but that was an ugly injury. Plus, he's now on coaching staff # 2 that has no clue how to use him. If the Jets don't re-sign him and he goes to NE, i'll pretty much have to kill myself.

I just really don't see STL going QB if they can't trade out of the #1 pick. And I really don't think they'll find any takers for that pick... too expensive. I think the days of seeing teams trade up that high are about through, unless they put a serious rookie salary cap in.
