Blind Bidding Dollars (1 Viewer)

As per MFL, you can trade blind bid dollars (or add them to a trade), so I ask how much is each dollar worth? Obviously, in a week such as this (the one which just passed where Jennings went for $51 (out of our $100 budget) in my 14-team league) each dollar may or may not have been relevant...

Two schools of thought I've come across regarding this:1) Late in the year as budgets dry up, their value goes up due to scarcity of supply and increased demand.

2) Early in the year BBAB dollars are worth more because any player you buy can potentially help you for a longer period of time.

Relatively nothing in my experience. The only time you might get some value for them is if some team is really desperate for a player... which won't happen too often.

I think late in the year if you're hurting for auction dollars due to a high bid or lots of bye week or injury driven pick ups, that you might want to replenish some of your funds. So IMO the auction dollars have value, but it will depend on many variables. For example, does the league allow minimum bids of $0? Is there regular non-bid free agency after the bidding to start the week, or do all acquisitions require a bid? I'm in one league right now where minimum bids are $1 and there is no way to acquire anyone off waivers without spending at least $1. I've been hit hard by injuries, which has been amplified by the bye weeks. I would be interested in getting refilling my auction budget a bit. Also what's nice about getting auction dollars in a trade is that it won't force your hand as far as making a roster decision. You might like to take auction dollars rather than another player so that you don't have to drop anyone to make room.

Interesting...no, our league has FCFS waivers after blind bidding has passed. Perhaps that makes the $$$ worth less. Nonetheless, I was trying to get a read on what these $$$ might be worth

Since you have FCFS waivers after blind bidding, I'd say the $$$ are not as valuable. An owner might want to get their hands on more dollars for bidding on some high-end FAs, such as a Rashad Jennings last week. However, for finding spot starts like K, D/ST, WRs, etc., they won't need to get their hands on more dinero to be able to keep dipping into the waiver wire.
