bloom, when is the next rookie update (1 Viewer)

Oh for pete' sake. He broke his hand and got a few scratches. Big deal. Terrible excuse for his lack of information. We need a rookie update!
I hope I'm just missing the sarcasm here. :boxing:
You are. I've PMd my respected friend Bloom with my concerns and hoped to just put a little smile on his face. Terrible situation and my prayers for an umcomplicated recovery for all are sincere.

one of his best friends is in a coma and is in critical condition...the amount of stress has to be unbleivable considering the situation.......him and his wife were standing right next to him at the time
CC+Bloom are friends/e-friends/web friends....whatever ya call it. There's alot of sarcasm there
fair enough, just hate to see it trivialized, not everybody is aware of their relationship

so do one :P
On this note. Man, is it ever quiet on the rookie front lately. A touch of coach speak here, a speculative blurb there. Very little substance in any information. My friends at DraftDaddy generally do yoeman's work pulling the news from teams with interesting sources and they are coming up dry. The official sites are very slow. Besides, I'm better qualified to poke a hole or two in Sig's exhaustive efforts than to actually do it. :D

here's an update. a rookie = a player in his first year of eligibility. :nerd:

CC is a good friend, as Bri, pointed out, he was just lightening the mood.

thanks for understanding everyone.

CC,

I read an article recently where the author felt that Kevin Burnett would have to be a backup in 2006 until he proves he can stay healthy after a long injury history in college. I thought this guy was supposed to be real good, good enough that if healthy he starts. No? Think the author was right?

CC,

any new supp draft thoughts/rumors? Real curious about Brooks. What are the chances Brooks starts for a team in 2006?

Hey Bri, I stepped out for a mock draft, sorry so slow. Hmmm... Brooks. A great big formally fat unknown.

In his favor is his obvious athleticsim, his excellent sophomore season and reports that he's recently been a strong interview. Also in his favor is a relatively shallow and weak LB class next year. A sup pick this summer isn't as valuable as one last summer. Where would Brooks go in next year's draft? Probably fairly high, so how to blind bid on him in a couple days? Not sure. I won't be surprised with a 2nd rounder or if he falls for a 4th.

Against him is the getting tossed from the program, getting fat, being outplayed by Parham last season, and a history of injury. Some think all the negs, work ethic, weight gain, attitude, can all be attributed to his frustrations with injury. He did drop 30 pounds and had decent workouts, but the speed number (low 4.7s) wasn't up to expectations (still nice for a 260 lb LB).

Supposedley the real interest is coming from Miami and the 3-4 teams. Some think the Pats love him, Dolphins and 9ers have shown the most interest.

As far as starting next year, I really doubt it. Seems like he's way behind in several categories.

Yeah, I think that's probably right. Ayodele and James should start on the inside. Dallas is trying to extend James, Witten and Roy, but probably will lose one of them. Burnett could make James expendable, but he needs to prove it.

guys i was hit by car last weekend along with 4 others and i am in the middle of recuperation. i ll continue to update my rankings and get a 100 update out when time warrants, but ive got a long road of recovery ahead. thanks for the interest.
:jawdrop: Get well & take care- WOW

Sorry to hear that Bloom, my prayers are with you...

Bloom - Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope everyone involved gets back to 100% real soon. Not sure how old you are, but turning 35 myself I found out I don't heal as fast as I used to. Two years ago I was in a horrific car accident. Someone fell asleep and crossed over on the highway to hit me head on. That was one hell of an impact (two cars going 70 or so hitting head on). Luckily I was able to walk away from it, but am still feeling the effects. I was really sore, but thought I would get back to normal soon. I had plenty of muscle strains, etc playing sports and thought it would heal up just the same. Come to find out I had two herniated discs in my neck and they have caused problems ever since. Sorry for the long drawn out story, but here are the bits of info I learned from the experience. The insurance companies are really out to screw you and it is very frustrating dealing with those people. Make sure you get checked out thoroughly because something that doesn't seem like such a big deal now could turn into a long term problem.

Again hope everyone heals up soon. Good luck.

Between Norwood and Calhoun, my uneducated opinion is that if their situations were reversed; Calhoun was in Atlanta, Norwood backing up KJ, this discussion would be much shorter.

They both have size issues but Calhoun was considered a better prospect in almost everything I read pre draft. It's just the spot Norwood landed in that got him a boost.

In dynasty drafts I almost always go with talent over situation. Situations change, but talent will eventually get a shot in most cases.

JJ Arrington is the player that flashes in my mind when I think of these situations. Before the draft last year he was an interesting prospect but barely made the top 10 in pre draft RB rankings in most I saw. Then he goes to a great situation and becomes the consesus #4 RB in rookie drafts. Now he backs up Edge. Bad situation, bad #4 pick. Easy to say in hindsight maybe, but there were warning signs.

I obviously can't say Norwood is the next Arrington but I don't have a good feeling.

I would personally take Calhoun (and Drew) over Norwood. And depending on how the Droughns/Green/Suggs thing plays out, I'll be watching Harrison closely in Cleveland too.

Sorry, just babbling to kill time til Bloom gets here...
I like where Will is coming from here. Good point(s) of discussion!

:D Knowing Chaos, it's definitely tongue-in-cheek.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mr and Mrs Bloom!

Very sorry to hear about all of this Bloom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the others that were involved (as well as the families) that physical and emotional healing will begin soon.

marc, i don't think the poster in the other thread was calling bloom out. he just asked a question like the one posed in this post. pretty much the same question. as far as bloom goes, if he can't do it ( and i could understand if he could'nt) why could'nt another member of the staff pick it up. draft season is upon us.

When you think about it, Marc was in the tough position of moderating so there's not 20 threads on here about Bloom's loss. If I may, just roll with it, he was in a tough spot.
