Blount dynasty value.. (1 Viewer)

Do you guys think he is the RB of the future for the Bucs or they will look elsewhere next year to upgrade at RB.

I am not convinced , yet ....

Maybe I jumped the gun but I just traded a mid-first rookie pick in 2011 for Blount in a Dynasty league. The pick will probably end up being around 1.06. My thought is Caddy is a FA next year and Blount is young and looks like he may be taking over in Tampa. Could they draft a new RB next year? Sure, but you could say that about just about any team. I've liked what I've seen so far from him and if he does become the undisputed starter in Tampa, you won't be able to get him for a mid-first rookie pick next year.

I think he'll be the starter next season and will have a very good (near Top-10) season or two.

I'd say this is on target. The opportunity to certainly there. The team around him is going to give him a chance to succeed for the next few years. There are some clouds on the horizon: 1) Don't discount the knucklehead factor. 2) His upright running style might make him prone to injury. 3) He's a two-down back. Al three factors can be cured over time. He has the potential to achieve two consecutive seasons of 1,100 yards and 8 TDs starting next year.

Yeah. I don't ever predict injury but his running style alone will wear him down. Like Jacobs or Marion Barber.

Is he not capable of being a 3rd down back? I keep hearing that he is only a 2 down back. But I think this may be due to Cadillac being able to know more reads, defenses and his own offense a lot better at this stage, which makes sense since Blount did not join the team till very late after he was released from the Titans.

Blount is better suited to rush the ball this is true, but it does not mean that he can't get more involved in the passing game going forward in years to come. Adrian Peterson had only 19 and 21 catches his first 2 years in the league. And even if he is a small part of the passing game, you could get a poor man's Turner production out of him, making him a good RB 2 in dynasty.

He had verrrry few receptions in college, too. Only 2 in 2009.

He needs to learn pass protection. He needs to learn more route running. Probably he can do it, but it might take time.

He's more similar to Jacobs than Turner, IMO. TDs will be a big part of his value.

I think he's worth a late 1st. Especially given the lack of talent at RB next year.

His ranking is probably late 20s right now. He can jump Benson and a couple guys but I couldn't put him ahead of Pierre, Greene, etc.
